At Aarup Mølle Fish Farm in Denmark, our partner TECHRAS Nano integrated nanobubble technology into the facility's return water system.

Return water left the biofilter at about 78% oxygen saturation, and after nanobubble treatment 125% was measured at the pond inlets.

But operators also saw changes beyond oxygenation:
• Less algae growth
• Less biofilter fouling and clogging
• Fewer cleaning hours
• More stable biofilter operation

One of the most visible results came from two ponds started at the same time under comparable conditions. The pond receiving Moleaer nanobubble-treated water showed noticeably less algae growth.

Fish welfare was also monitored. A veterinary assessment reported good water quality, good appetite and generally low mortality.

In a separate study at Dalhousie University, researchers observed lower mean geosmin concentrations in a recirculating aquaculture system using Moleaer Nanobubbles compared with a control system, pointing to how they may help address off-flavour, one of the industry's persistent challenges.

The results at Aarup Mølle show how Moleaer nanobubbles support improved water quality, more stable biofilter performance and reduced maintenance demands in aquaculture.

What if wastewater plants could get more from the polymer they already use?

Moleaer has patented a new nanobubble process for polymer activation that helps wastewater treatment plants cut polymer usage and produce drier cake, driving down operating costs.

The results are significant:
→ 10–40% less polymer consumption
→ 2–4 percentage-point increase in cake solids

The process introduces Moleaer nanobubbles into polymer makedown water before blending, improving polymer performance and giving operators another lever to optimize their dewatering process.

At Clean Water Services’ Rock Creek facility, operators reduced polymer use by 23% and increase cake dryness from 21% to 23%. They ultimately optimized for total economics, operating at 17% less polymer while producing slightly drier cake.

At Greer CPW, polymer consumption was reduced by 30% while maintaining the same cake solids. With polymer feed held constant, cake solids increased by 2 to 4 points, depending on polymer type and concentration.

Less polymer. Drier cake. Better dewatering economics.

Ten years ago today, Moleaer was founded around a wastewater challenge and an idea that nanobubble technology could offer a better way to solve real-world water challenges.

At the time, nanobubbles were largely the domain of academic research. There wasn't an established commercial category or a roadmap for where the technology could be applied.

So we got to work.

What began with one wastewater challenge by Moleaer co-founders Warren Russell and Bruce Scholten has grown into more than 10,000 Moleaer systems across 55+ countries, treating more than 1 billion gallons of water every day.

Today, Moleaer nanobubble technology is used across wastewater, agriculture, aquaculture, surface water, natural resource recovery and more.

But 10 years isn't just a milestone for Moleaer. It's a reflection of how far nanobubble technology has come, from promising science to a technology being used at commercial scale around the world.

None of that happens without the employees who have built Moleaer, the customers who trust our technology, and the partners and researchers who continue to help move it forward.

From cleaning irrigation intake filters twice a day to about once a year. That's what improved reservoir water quality did for this commercial strawberry greenhouse.

Low dissolved oxygen and algae had degraded their irrigation reservoir, clogging filtration and turning irrigation into a daily maintenance challenge. After installing two Moleaer nanobubble generators:

✅ Routine filter cleaning was reduced from twice daily to about once a year
🧪 Hydrogen peroxide dosing was eliminated
💧 Reservoir water became visibly clearer

Water quality affects every step of irrigation. Starting at the reservoir can reduce maintenance, eliminate chemical treatments and improve the reliability of the entire irrigation system.
