Excited to have Brian Bledsoe Weather joining us tonight!

Up at 3 AM, cuz for some reason I can’t sleep in hotels anymore. In the Farm Journal KC studio studio from 8-11 AM today, with the Pro Farmer Crop Tour. Flying from KC to Denver now and then driving to Haxtun for Anderson Farms grower meeting. Fly back to KC tomorrow morning to finish out the week. August usually isn’t one of my busier months, but it sure is this year. Grateful for all the amazing opportunities I have been blessed with and never take any of them for granted.

Reid Ernst, a CWAC Board Member, attended U.S. Wheat's Latin American and Caribbean Buyers Conference at the end of July in New Mexico. Buyers from many of the top markets for hard red winter wheat attended and provided valuable opportunities to discuss market trends.

Shaking off all the bad, and storing up the good!

Our seed cleaner arrived a couple weeks ago and has been hard at work cleaning all of our varieties. He brought with him some really good rains too which we are so thankful for, even though it has slowed progress a little bit. 🌾

Our final variety is a new variety from Kansas State University, KS Tradition. It is a late maturing, medium to tall wheat. It has excellent yield potential and very good drought tolerance. This variety has a very strong disease package with strong resistance to all the main diseases found in the region.

Today’s highlights Outlaw, another new variety from Plainsgold. This is a short, medium to early wheat that has very good yield and drought tolerance and excellent tillering ability. It has very good resistance to stripe and stem rust as well as wheat streak mosaic virus.

today highlights a new variety, Gabriel, from Plainsgold. Gabriel is a medium maturity wheat with excellent drought tolerance potential. This wheat has high resistance to stem rust and wheat streak mosaic virus and is a great option to be planted on acres with high mosaic virus risk.

This week for is a new variety, KS Homesteader CL Plus. This variety offers very good yield, drought tolerance, and test weight potential. It also has excellent resistance to stripe and stem rust, wheat streak mosaic virus, and soil borne mosaic virus.

Our highlight this week is Sheridan. This variety brings excellent drought resistance, good yield potential, and very good resistance to both stripe and stem rust, making it a strong and reliable performer across a range of conditions.
