In this green age of demanding fresh produce without fear of harmful additives and chemicals, we think you all are looking for a higher quality product. Technology now gives us the ability to farm in different ways. Hydroponic farming does not involve growing in soil, but in thin streams of fresh water. What could be more clean and healthy? We can now control certain environmental factors to produce a cleaner head of lettuce with less disruption to our natural resources. Comments and Questions are always welcome! It's time! 🌱Let's talk about Watercress sourced from our local partners TrueFarms. Did you know that Watercress is one of the oldest leafy greens humans have eaten? It’s a water-growing plant that’s in the same family as mustard and cabbage. You'll find it has a distinctly spicy, peppery, pungent flavor - perfect for pestos and salads.🥗 Similar to most leafy greens, Watercress is highly perishable. To store: wrap the stems in a damp cloth and cover the leafy end with a plastic bag and place in the fridge. We recommend only storing them for a couple of days.

To prepare Watercress rinse and pat dry, then cut off the thick parts of the stems. You can either saute them (as you would spinach), steam them, or eat them raw!

Wonderful day touring Prince William with candidates for the Board of Supervisors. We covered a lot of ground and had some great conversations about how we can direct growth to the right places, creating a sustainable future for all. Many thanks to the local organizations and people who made this trip a success!
