As we continue to try and comprehend what is going on in our world, we also need to look at this new reality through our children’s eyes. God has placed each of us in this moment to guide and continue to love our families through the pandemic, fear, and isolation. Here is a little helpful advice to ensure that we can appreciate the impact we can have with our children!

We have tremendous power in shaping the meaning (or the sense-making) that our children have when it comes to the messages they're receiving about what's happening right now. In this video, I talk about how the brain is an association machine and that by focusing on safety-based messaging, we can ensure that our children have repeated experiences of understanding that their parent keeps them safe (rather than the message that the world is a dangerous and threatening place).
