đŸ”„ Big News from Narrow Path đŸ”„

After a lot of prayer, late-night talks, and dreaming big
we’re excited to share that Narrow Path Farmstead is forging ahead together as Foundry Farms—a new chapter we’re building with our good friends Joe and Megan.

The Foundry name reflects our shared desire to forge something lasting—through faith, family, and hard work. This isn’t just a name change; it’s a deeper commitment to stewarding our land, health, and calling with even greater intention.

We’re still the same folks behind the feed buckets and garden beds—but now with more hands, more vision, and a united front to serve our community better.

🌿 Narrow Path Farmstead Update 🌿

We’ve got a lot to be grateful for lately.

Stephanie is making steady progress in her recovery—each small win is a big deal in our house, and we’re seeing more of them every week. Your prayers, kind words, and encouragement have meant more than we can express. Please keep them coming.

Also
something big is coming soon. We’re not quite ready to share the details just yet, but we’ve been quietly building something that reflects the same heart and mission behind Narrow Path—stewardship, legacy, and purpose. Stay tuned for a major announcement in the coming days 👀

Thank you for walking this journey with us.

I want to thank everyone who has reached out over the past week—especially our friends, family, and church family who have helped us in so many ways.

What we thought would be just a tough couple of days has turned into a much longer road to recovery. An MRI yesterday confirmed that Stephanie had a small stroke in the part of her brain that controls movement on her left side. She has some movement in her left leg but not much in her arm. She’ll be starting physical therapy soon, and while her doctors say she will recover, it will take time and hard work.

As crazy as this sounds, we were relieved to hear it was a stroke and not the cancer spreading. We even joked on the way home about how wild life is when you’re relieved to find out your wife had a stroke! That doesn’t make this easy. It really sucks—it feels like we’re fighting a two-front war—but through it all, God is still good.

I love how our Creator prepares us for hard times. Thursday night at our community group, we were in 1 Samuel 22. Saul was hunting David to kill him, and just when it seemed like David would be caught, God sent the Philistines to raid the land. Saul had to abandon his pursuit of David to go fight them instead. The people whose land was raided probably questioned God, wondering why this was happening to them. What they didn’t see was that God was using this trial to preserve the life of their future king and, ultimately, the bloodline of the Messiah.

Life is hard. Sometimes it’s hard for a long time. But there has never been a time when God is not good or faithful.

In all transparency, life is really tough right now. But God is still good. First and foremost, we have eternal glory waiting for us whenever He calls us home. Here on earth, He has surrounded us with an amazing church family, incredible friends, and strong, loving families who have helped us in ways we can’t even begin to list. Our kids are tough and resilient—true farm kids—who love their mother fiercely.

There is so much to be thankful for, and God has made it easier for us to see His blessings daily.

We can’t thank you enough for your prayers, your kindness, and your support. Please continue to pray—for Stephanie’s healing and, most of all, that God would be glorified through it all.

Thank you.

We wanted to share a quick update on Stephanie. Over the past few days, she has experienced some temporary loss of mobility on her left side to where she’s not able to walk. While this has been a challenge, her doctors believe it is just that—temporary. They say that it’s more than likely side-effects from radiation that come about around 6 months later. We are clinging to our Creator, trusting in God’s perfect plan and His ability to restore. I would like to be clear that clinging is the appropriate term and I don’t want it to be misconstrued that we are in anyway strong of our own accord. Any strength we have is a blessing from the Holy Spirit.

Through it all, Stephanie remains strong, and we continue to see His grace at work in every step of this journey. God has blessed me with a truly amazing woman to be my wife.

There’s a song we sing a lot at church called “His Glory and My Good”. This part of the song has stuck out to me:

There is hope in every trial
For I can trust the Lord
He will turn my heart towards Him
And help me bear the thorn
So in faith, I follow Jesus
On the road not understood
For I know that He is working
For His glory and my good

Even when the path is uncertain, we trust that He is working through this for His glory and our good. This trial is not the end of the story, and we hold on to the truth of Romans 8:18:

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."

What we face now is temporary—nothing compared to the eternal glory that awaits. That promise gives us strength, peace, and hope as we walk forward in faith. God has blessed us beyond measure with a support network like no other. I would also like to brag on our children. They’ve taken this in stride and just roll with the punches. They help without complaint (at least when it comes to helping their mother) and are tougher than I was at their age.

We are so grateful for every prayer, kind word, and act of love from all of you. Please continue to pray for strength, healing, and perseverance as we navigate this season.

God is good, and we trust Him completely.

Happy New Year from all of us at Narrow Path Farmstead! As we welcome 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible journey this past year has been.

2024 was a year of challenges, growth, and countless blessings. Stephanie’s battle with brain cancer has grown our faith and resilience in ways we never imagined, but through it all, God’s goodness has been our anchor. She's a fighter and we are not taking this laying down. We are continuing to live our lives knowing that we serve a sovereign God and His plan is always good. We are so incredibly thankful to Him for our salvation and the family, friends and church that He's put in our lives.

This year also brought exciting new ventures for our family. We stepped onto the ice and embraced the world of hockey, discovering a sport that has become a source of fun, discipline, and family bonding. We also took a big step forward in our farm journey by attending a beef butchering class in Oklahoma taught by Farmstead Meatsmith. It was a rewarding experience that deepened our connection to the creation and our mission to steward it well. We plan to harvest our first beef in the next month or two depending on our hockey schedule (and the weather, there's always that...).

Through every high and low, we’ve been reminded of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. Without the Spirit, this year would have probably broken us. Our farmstead continues to grow, as does our mission to be good stewards of God's creation and blessings. We are excited to share more detailed updates about our year and plans for the future in the coming days, so stay tuned!

Thank you for walking this path with us. Your support and encouragement mean the world. May this new year bring you and your family peace, joy, and countless blessings.

Here’s to 2025! 🎉

With love,
The Narrow Path Farmstead Family

Yesterday, we visited UAB for a follow-up MRI and consultation with our neuro-oncologist. We're happy to share that the MRI results looked promising—no additional growth detected! It’s a bit tricky to assess fully since the radiation is still working, but we’re encouraged. We’ll have another MRI at the end of November to establish a clearer baseline.

After a lot of prayer, research, and heartfelt discussions with family and friends, we feel led to combine traditional care (radiation and chemotherapy) with an integrative medicine approach. This plan focuses on achieving and maintaining therapeutic ketosis, along with other treatments to detoxify and enhance Stephanie’s health. Many have thrived for years using this method, and while it will require dedication, we know Stephanie is strong, and we have an incredible support network around us.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be heading to an integrative medicine clinic in Minnesota for a week of intensive treatment to help prepare her for chemotherapy, which we anticipate starting towards the end of October.

We apologize for any delays in responding to messages, calls, or texts. The past few months have been challenging, especially the weeks leading up to our appointment yesterday. Your understanding means a lot to us.

We remain hopeful about the next steps and trust in God’s sovereignty through it all. It was truly uplifting to see how everything is coming together. Your continued prayers and support are invaluable to us on this journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

This past Monday, Stephanie completed her 30th and final session of radiation therapy! She has been incredibly brave throughout this entire process. Though she’s understandably exhausted and eager to return to normal life, we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from friends, family, and our church community.

Our next appointment is at UAB for an MRI and to discuss the next steps. In the meantime, we’re exploring options with an integrative oncology clinic to see if their approach might be a good fit for Stephanie.

There’s no denying that this will be a challenging fight, but Stephanie is one of the strongest people I know. Even during radiation, she was hitting the gym to stay as strong as possible. We would be incredibly thankful if you could join us in praying for God to be glorified through this journey, and for healing, strength, and peace for Stephanie.

After much thought and conversations with close friends, we’ve decided to use social media to share our journey and hopefully spread the Gospel in the midst of this trial. We’ll keep you posted as we move forward. Thank you once again for all your prayers and support.
