Amazing picture of a "fire whirl" this past weekend in Missouri. A fire whirl (commonly referred to as a fire tornado) is caused by intense heat from a fire combining with gusty winds to form eddies. These eddies can tighten up and eventually spin to form a "tornado". Thanks to Janae Copelin in Chillicothe, MO.

College has shown me that the possibilities are endless and the world is wide open. But the farm, that's where I want to be. That's where I belong.

I was trying to get pictures of my dad in the combine, when my mom pulled up with the auger wagon and hopped out. She usually doesn't like her picture taken, but I took it anyway. It might be my favorite picture ever. Why? It's not only pretty, but it's real. She's out there and works the same long hours as my dad. She loves this life even more than I do. She's the glue that holds us all together. She usually works behind the scenes, giving me advice and helping me find quotes for this page. Now, I'm putting her front and center. Love you, Mom.
