One of the best things about farming and homesteading is getting the kids out there and teaching them everything there is to know! Passing down knowledge from one generation to the next!!

This pretty guy went to his new home today! I hatched him along with 28 others last Spring and he has had me puzzled ever since he got his color! The eggs came from my “barnyard” breeding pen…my rooster in that pen was pure-bred Americana rooster (solid white) and the hens where white leghorn, Golden Laced Wyandotte, and Buff Orpington! I have no idea where his red color came from!! Notice his white earlobes and his comb looks like Americana and flops over like a white leghorn…no idea what color egg he came from!!
