Like our page and keep up with us throughout the year!! Nine generations have touched their hands in this soil and have looked out across these fields. The first land grant, for 160 acres, to Joab Lassiter is dated December, 1826. Lassiter Farm

s is the family farm name and is still in existence today consisting of land that has been passed down through generations and now is a landlord of farm land that is tended by Taylor Store Farms. Taylor Store Farms was started by Mitch Jackson (son of Donna Lassiter Jackson) in 1995, and is named after the community that once thrived in this area. The actual “Taylor Store” has been closed for many years but the old building now serves as the farm paint shop and classic car restoration garage. The current farm is located in the same general area and over the years the farm land boundaries have changed but the family and the farming tradition has carried on through the generations. At the present time, 4 generations live on the farm and are active in the farming operation. We farm 2600+ acres, mostly equal parts of white corn and soybeans. In the late 1960’s, Marvin Lassiter started contracting white corn sales with Martha White in Jackson, TN and to this day we continue to maintain a contract with Martha White (ADM). We also grow non–GMO white corn for Azteca and raise seed beans for Monsanto. In addition to the white corn and seed beans, we also row crop full season and double crop soybeans, yellow corn, wheat, canola, and oats. Besides row crop we grow hay and maintain a small herd of Brangus cattle that Marvin started on the farm in the 1980’s.

Technology has come a such a long way using SF-RTK guidance from John Deere! It is accurate within less than an inch. We use it to plant corn, then side dress with liquid nitrogen as well as spray through out the year, using AutoPath to stay between the rows. At harvest we use the same lines for the combine and grain cart.
