As a boutique w**ery, diversifying into other high-value, small-production goods has always felt like a natural next step. Starting our own apiary was a top priority and a fitting extension of our truffle and olive orchards. Honeybees are fascinating, intelligent creatures, and they're also vital pollinators that support the health and vitality of the Bavarian Lion Vineyard property.
Our goal is twofold: to keep healthy hives that serve as strong pollinators across the estate, and to offer something new to our w**e club members through an exclusive estate honey program. Fresh, small-batch honey is something truly special. Not all honey is of the same quality, and not all beekeeping practices or bee habitats are equal. The same is true of any farming practice, yet people often don't apply the same lens to w**e that they do to other agricultural goods.
We're happy to be working with local beekeeper Travis Tyler, who has been managing hives for decades and takes great pride in caring for his bees. Healthier bees make better honey. We hope to offer our first estate honey to w**e club members in summer 2027.

We had a wonderful visit from w**e writer Tom Capo! Tom came out to Bavarian Lion Vineyards to walk the vines, learn the story behind our site, and taste through a lineup of Ehret w**es. Our w**emaker Erin Green was on hand to share what makes this vineyard special, from how the fruit is grown to how it ends up in the glass. Thanks for spending the day with us, Tom, we loved having you!

This edition, Alex Ehret showcases Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz Vol. 1. Smooth, jazzy, downtempo hip hop at its finest.

This record is special to Alex because he interned for a booking agency in his early twenties, and the office shared a space with Om Records. It's a piece of that time in his life, and the sound still takes him right back.

Some of our neighbors and guests never touch a glass of w**e, they just move through the hills when we're not looking. We're excited to introduce fifteen black Angus cattle to our Knights Valley estate, the newest addition to our farm to table ambitions. We've partnered with our neighbor Cheryl LaFranchi, owner of Oak Ridge Angus, whose beef supplies respected local butchers like Sonoma Meat Co. and has built a reputation for quality.

Alex Ehret breaks down one of Knights Valley's biggest advantages for Bavarian Lion Vineyards: the diurnal shift. Hot days build sugar in the grapes, cold nights hold onto the acidity. That swing in temperature is a big part of what makes this fruit so distinct.
