Rockpile Vineyards This makes Rockpile one of the smallest AVAs in the United States in terms of acreage planted. Vineyards range in elevation from 800' to nearly 2100'.

Tasting Lounge: Located in downtown Healdsburg, the Rockpile Vineyards tasting lounge specializes in small lot, single-vineyard, wines from our own Rockpile Vineyard, as well as fruit sourced from other spectacular vineyards nestled high above the fog in the Rockpile AVA. Rockpile Vineyard: Located in Northern Sonoma County, Rockpile Vineyards’ rich heritage dates bac

k to 1872 when the vineyard site was first planted by Tennessee Bishop proving that the mountainous terrain could produce ultra-premium grapes. In 1992, Road and Cathy Park re-introduced modern viticulture to the appellation, and today Rockpile Vineyards’ heritage continues as Ken and Diane Wilson carry on the legacy of one of the finest vineyard sites in Northern California. Rockpile AVA: While Rockpile is one of the newest in California, receiving AVA status April 29th, 2002, the area has been referred to as Rockpile since the 1850’s. Located in Northern Sonoma County, at the northwest corner of Dry Creek Valley, the Rockpile AVA encompasses nearly 15,000 acres, of which less than 160 are planted to vineyard. Approximately 2,500 of the acres of the Rockpile AVA overlap the Dry Creek Valley viticultural area to the Southeast.
