Happy Monday Everyone! ☀️

✨Hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday! ✨

I would like to introduce the family🤍

This is Brian and Tammy Telfer with their children Austin, Justin, and Jessica. Brian and Tammy took over the farm in 2010 and bought the farm from Brian’s father Dixon and Connie Telfer in 2015. Brian grew up on the family farm and has worked here his whole life. Once Tammy and Brian married Tammy not only worked in town as a teacher but also here on the farm doing whatever it is to lend a hand. Austin, Brian and Tammy’s oldest grew up helping on the farm and still works on the farm. Justin, Brian and Tammy’s middle child, helped on the farm growing up. Once he graduated high school he went out to be a Marine Reserve and is also police officer in Virginia. Jessica, Brian and Tammy’s youngest, worked on the farm until she went off to join the Navy after high school where she is active duty while she is also studying to be a medical assistant. When Justin and Jessica come home to visit from Virginia they often help out lending a hand. 🤍

We hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated on this hot day! 🫠

It’s been a pretty busy week so far around the farm.

Monday and Tuesday Austin, Brian and I have been getting equipment ready and chopping part of first crop.

Today (Wed)- we had the hood trimmer come and work on some of the cows feet. Tammy and I also clipped Lady Ashley before her big day at the petting zoo Friday.

And we have had 6!! New baby calves on the farm!

Half way through the week!

Milk testing in this chilly wet Wednesday morning. 🥛

Once a month to every other month we do milk testing to see how the production of our cows are doing and add in any new heifers that have calved in.

Best part about it is the morning crew gets donuts! YUM 🍩

Fun Tuesday on the farm! Baby Merle checked out the cows, we have baby corn popping up, Sid found some treasure in the field while picking up some logs and rocks before Austin’s made his last pass over the field before planting it. Brian gave up the hot seat for the last field and let Austin get his first go around planting (I didn’t get a picture 😕).

So glad we beat the rain and got everything we had ready planted, 2 more fields to go after first crop comes off.

Happy Friday!!

Here’s little Merle with Jeff, Grandpa Brian, and Matt. These guys are our amazing morning crew! Not only do they milk the cows they hang out with little Merle while Sidney feeds the calves.
