May 31, 2026. It is a good time to reintroduce ourselves, say 'WELCOME' to all the new folks who like our page and if you read to the bottom of this post you will get a chance to vote on something.
We started this page in 2008 to complement our main website which is listed elsewhere on the details of this page as well as an updated INTRO. You can find many more details and explanations on our regular Woroniecki Ranch Quarter Horses website.
We are Jodie and Warren Woroniecki. I, Jodie, am the one writing this post. We are 60 and 61 years old this year. I was born in 1966 and graduated from Watford City High School in 1984. Warren was born in 1965 and graduated from Hebron High School in 1983. We both attended, and met each other at, North Dakota State University, completing our agricultural degrees in 1987 and 1988. We have known each other since January 1985. We were married in 1987 and will celebrate 39 years this summer. Warren and I were born in the early years of the demographic group Gen X, although we missed being Baby Boomers by only 1 & 2 years. Hang in there... this background will come into play toward the end of this post.
We settled into married life to ranch and raise cattle, horses, kids (5), and now grandbabies (5, soon to be 6 and counting). Our lives were enriched by numerous dogs and cats and our numerous ranch 4-H horses over the years. I was an Agriculture Education instructor both full time and part time as a substitute in that area as well as other high school subjects. I received my 30 Year teaching certificate several years ago. I was also the drama director for our local high school for many years and we hosted 6 different Foreign Exchange Students over the years our kids were in school.
We both created and have run Prairie Nutrition Center, Inc. PNC Inc is an animal livestock nutrition company with Warren as the nutritionist. He creates and handles all our own products and we have a 5 state regional presence. Between the cattle, horses and PNC Inc business we employ ourselves and 5 other full time employees including 2 of our 5 children. We currently reside on Warren's home ranch and we run and manage cattle on my mother's family (Levang) place in McKenzie County. We promote youth FFA, 4-H and rodeos; and many community organizations not just in our own community but in those of our mineral customers as well.
Back to horses and this particular page. For years we have used themes each year for our foals such as movies, Star Wars, Disney movies, botany, ocean things, earth things, outer space etc. Some folks love our names and others not so much. That is fine. We feel our buyers can change the name of the horse they buy to whatever they want. We do this just to keep track of the years and to be able to identify each foal. Coming up with those themes has been a collaborative effort as a family and we have had a lot of fun with them.
We also have certain name wording for each of our six stallions. All their babies are named as you see below. This is how you can tell the sire of each foal without seeing the pedigree. Two stallions have passed away but we have many of their daughters and sons in our program (breeding and riding) and this also enables you to identify the sires of some of our broodmares as well. We generally then 'barn name/call' them the name in the X's. Paddys Gin Surf JW is just Surf, Whiskey Up Aspen JW is Aspen, Ting Bartender is Ting etc.
TRR Paddys Texas Gin are Paddys Gin ###### JW (Up to 6 letters)
Whoop Up Whiskey are Whiskey Up ###### JW (Up to 6 letters)
Top Gun Whiskey are Top Gun ######### JW (Up to 9 letters)
Jacks Our Bartender are X###### Bartender JW (Up to 7 letters)
Goldun Topsail are X######xx Topsail JW (Up to 9 letters)
My Bluestem Drift JW are Bluestem ######xx JW (Up to 8 letters
Walter O Rielly were X#########x Drift JW (Up to 11 letters)
JK Jay Reed were X#########xx Reed JW (Up to 12 letters)
We have made special considerations on the 'barn names' on some of the Roan Bar family of mares. Whiskey Up Roan JW is by Whoop as her name indicates but we call her 'Fin' which means Fancy in Swedish (our exchange student from Sweden named her) and so on. What we call the mares is indicated in their specific bios both on Facebook and our website.
On September 25, 2024 I had a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor that took up 20 to 25% of my brain space. I will not go in to huge details here, but know that I am well and it was a benign cancer. I continue yearly follow ups. Many of you on this page are also family and friends with me on my personal page and been with me on my 'brain adventure' turned to 'brain journey' since the beginning. My personal page is public so that anybody can see and view. I have posted detail updates there (12-8-24, 1-8-25, 4-15-25, 8-2-25) and will update more soon. Feel free to take a read and look on my Jodie Thompson Woroniecki page.
The reason I tell this here is that during the 20 months post-craniotomy, I have gained a renewed interest in all areas of my/our life... the cattle, horses, family and nature. I was DULL for many years. I am actively outside even more than I was years ago and walking an average of 3.5 miles daily. My worst symptoms were dizziness and forgetfulness. It had become very difficult for me to do physical tasks without falling down. And forgetfulness.... well it made me forget details like phone calls, requests for pictures, bookwork, conversations etc. Some of my memories of the years of 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 are pretty fuzzy and most memories gone or very elusive. I apologize to those of you who may have contacted me during those years. I remember all my old things prior and once the tumor was gone, my new memory abilities are really good. As a family we are so blessed that I am here and productive again when it could so easily have gone a different direction resulting in my death or severe incapacity.
Throughout my recovery, as I detail on my personal page posts, music became a HUGE source of comfort and expression. Prior to that it was just gone.... even the nostalgic music we take for granted. Well, I don't take that for granted any longer because it really was GONE and now it is BACK!!
WHICH brings us full circle to our ages, demographic group, Gen X and some hold over Boomer music from the 50s and 60s. We are both being selfish and CELEBRATING ... OUR lives and the music WE grew up with for our 2026 foal naming THEME!!
I am sure many of you have seen our current theme is Rock bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Often it is certain songs that ring it for us more than the actual bands themselves. Those songs we highlight in the intro paragraph for each foal. We shorten the band names to fit our number of letters permitted for each stallion.
We have already named 23 of our expected 34 foals and have a pending name of Chicago for the 24th foal.... so 10 more names to come up with!! I will list the ones we have already used below. We do have an ongoing list of additional names to use but we'd like to give you guys a chance to chime in on the next 10 names. Those 10 mares yet to foal are late and will trickle in through June, July and maybe later. Keep in mind the letter constraints for each sire but we can shorten. Example would be Whitesnake could be shortened to just Snake; Trick for Cheap Trick; Special for 38 Special etc. We are NOT using names from single name artists such as Elton John, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Cher etc.
The Rock Band names used so far:
REO for REO Speedwagon
Toto
Asia
ACDC for AC/DC
Queen
Ranger for Night Ranger
Go Gos for The Go-Gos
ZZ Top
Poison
Stones for The Rolling Stones
Boston
Blondie
Journey
Beatles for The Beatles
Bangles for The Bangles
Bon Jovi
Creedence for Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)
Guns for Guns N' Roses
Kiss
Chicago
To complete the 24 born, we have 3 other Top Gun Movie foals named and 1 pedigree named baby.
So of the 10 needed, one more will be a Top Gun name but the other 9 Rock Band names are up for suggestions and voting.
So....READY, SET, GO.... Give Suggestions....
