We love being able to give back and help support the 4H and FFA kids, and this year is no exception! 3 years running, and over $15K spent on a good cause. 😊

2026 was yet another awesome year for the kids at the Berkeley County Youth Fair for the market hogs!

While we are saddened that we didn't manage to win some of the pigs we were bidding on that were being showed by kids who had pigs we got in prior years, we were super excited to see those kids get such high sales prices! 🤩

We were especially excited to see pigs from the Lore, Grove, and Espeland families go for pretty solid numbers, and we will try again to get pigs from them in 2027.

This year, we are honored and excited to have bought two pigs, one each from Amelia Pinyan and Sierra Knight, and we look forward to adding their photos to the wall!

While I was out on my "day off" today and working at the farm, I was doing some brush clearing and found this awesome little patch of dead-standing trees that would make for an awesome little place for a hidden campsite or a place to build a little deck to sit and look out over the ravine. 😊

Today's farmhouse esthetic includes snacking on cereal, tripping over a pole saw, and muck boots because I need to harvest some basil in the rain. I look like a gremlin 90% of time here on farm.

And yea that is a r***r box on the ground. 😅

Thankful for Summer! The garden is producing a ton of veggies every day, and I couldn't be happier.

Since so many people liked the before and after photo of the cabin, here's the same idea with the back of the field behind the cabin.

The first photo is after I bush-hogged the chest-high sticker bushes 2 weeks after closing, and the second photo is almost the same spot where you can see that I cleared out all the invasive vines and dead trees that were piled up and thinned out the trees so that they can all be strong and healthy without being overcrowded.

This is going to look amazing next spring when these trees bush out and the grass pops up!

Sometimes it's the little things that matter.

Like taking the c***e of a cucumber sitting on the counter and showing it who is boss topped off with a little homemade spicy buttermilk ranch dressing!

I would like to apologize to any neighbors we inconvenienced tonight or may have upset from trespassing on their property while collecting our goats.

We have geofenced shock collars that are GPS and cell phone enabled so we can see what is going on and tonight around 7:15 we get alerted that multiple goats have escaped and we are trying to figure out what is going on.

I leave the house and rush over to the farm, and while en route, I move all the collars to the whole wooded area of the farm, as I imagined something like a tree falling likely spooked them.

I then start getting notifications that they have escaped the 40+ acre area I moved them to, so I hurried even faster.

Once I arrived and I pulled up into the field, it was apparent what the problem was. Two black dogs were out in the field chasing and biting at the goats.

I quickly ran the dogs off and started to round up all the goats, which worked at first, but very quickly devolved into a case of herding cats since they were so freaked out and would run right through the shocks and escape again.

Thankfully, help arrived and the three of us were able to make multiple trips to get all the goats back home where they hopefully are safe again and can heal from their injuries.

Not really how I wanted to spend 5 and a half hours of my evening, but I'm glad it is over, they are safe, one of the two dogs have been recovered by their owners, and thankfully they live on the other side of the creek, so between the distance and the fact that I likely scared the s**t out of the dogs when I charged at them to protect the goats, I am hopeful that the escape artists won't return and harm more of the goats.

Anyway, sorry again for any inconvenience or irritation we may have caused.
