Last week we got the heifers ultrasounded! We ended up with 78 bred BWF F1 heifers. We have them grouped into 3 calving windows. The first cycle should start calving around February 22nd.

Most of our AI’d heifers are AI bred to Home Run LBW Angus Bull. This year we have some heifers sired by Home Run, those heifers we AI’d to Maplecrest Sunburst LBW Angus Bull.

All bull bred heifers are bred to Chalupa LBW Angus Bulls.

53 Head - First Cycle
• 30 with bull calves
• 20 with heifer calves
• 3 undetermined
• AI bred

20 Head - Next Calving Window
• 5 with bull calves
• 5 with heifer calves
• 10 undetermined
• Bull bred

5 Head - Final Calving Window
• 5 undetermined
• Bull bred

These heifers will be available at the January sale at Keoco Sale Barn. We’ll preg check again and sort to s*x to the best of our ability before sale day.

Last Saturday we got all of the heifers AI’d! We had perfect weather and great help!

This puts a due date of February 22nd. We are using the same bulls as the last couple years as our results have been outstanding! We AI’d to Home Run Angus Bull. We will be putting in 3 new yearling Chalupa bulls on Wednesday. We’ve been extremely happy with the results we’ve gotten from Nate & Chase Chalupa bulls over the past few years! We will run the bulls for 75 days and then ultrasound.

It’s that time of year again! Today we started the process of syncing up another set of awesome BWF baldy heifers! We always seem to pick the muddiest day to do it so extra thank you to all of our help from the Veterinary Medical Center of Williamsburg!

Our AI date is May 16th, which will put the calving date at February 22nd. Stay tuned for more updates!!

Hi everyone!

We have been battling daylight to get you all some good pictures of this year’s bred heifers! We will get some better pictures posted in the next couple weeks as well as the detailed paper with a timeline of the work that has been done on them.

We have approximately 50 BWF F1 heifers. The heifers are set to start calving February 15th. We have the most recent ultrasound results on our page in a previous post.

These heifers will be available at the January 31st sale at Keoco Sale Barn in Sigourney. We’ll preg check again and sort to s*x to the best of our ability before sale day.
