These pictures show Plan D. Because A, B, and C fell apart. Our new (to us, but actually really old) baler produced about 28 bales—exactly one ton—before it decided to quit on us. Luckily we only paid $400 for it in an auction. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so Plan D was a last minute, hail mary, phone call to a neighbor. He came through and voilà! A completely baled field 24 hours before the storms roll in.

We’ve had about 2.5 inches of rain in the last week. 3 inches in June, which we appreciate. Today it held off but it’s supposed to rain again Wednesday and Thursday, so we won’t be cutting before July 4. Took a moment tonight to enjoy the view.

🚨It’s almost cutting time 🚨

Crop is being cut soon and will be ready for field pickup around the end of June or early July (weather dependent).

Sainfoin hay: $250/ton field pickup (price will be $275/ton if I have to stack/cover and store). Small square bales.

Natural wormer, natural anti-bloat, natural anti-inflammatory and high protein. Horses love it. Usually sells very quickly so PM to arrange pick-up/purchase (just outside of Helena).

*Although alfalfa wasn’t seeded with the crop, there is some alfalfa in it.
