We focus on clean, whole ingredients in our life as well as our livestock.

Mama, if your mop water looks like this, you're not alone. I could vacuum 5 times a day and mop the floors every morning and evening and somehow It would still look this way. Just here to normalize real life on a farm and make you feel better about your house.

Don't over complicate your preg-checks on a small scale homestead. Yes, you can load your girl up, stress her out and take her to the vet. You can pay a large amount to have a vet come to you and ultrasound or palpate. Or, you can learn how to draw blood yourself and use a very reliable $10 at home test. Please, do not use a urine test! They are less than 50% accurate which means they aren't accurate. Drawing blood from under the tail is so easy! I am using a squeeze chute in the video. However, we did it for many years without one. Our Little Lady is bred and due to calve in June to be shown in our local county fairs dairy division.

It’s pumpkin season and our critters will take all your left over pumpkins. We will take carved but we really love whole ones for the seeds as they are a natural dewormer for our animals. We fed over 400lbs of pumpkins last year. If you grow them or just end up with too many this fall, let us know and we’d love to come get them. Helena only for now. Thank you!!! 🙂

Sometimes I wake up in the night and I’m convinced I can hear him. Anyone else have that one child that never stops talking...ever? 🥴 My kids don't have as many livestock chores as they should. That's because I need 30 minutes of silence in the sunshine in a 24 day. So l choose to do most of the animal chores and they aren't allowed to come. 🤪

Can we talk about how underrated family is? We have made some very big changes over the past year to make it easier to leave our little farm and be able to still take family trips (Even if they revolve around where my husband is currently working) A few years back I burnt out bad after having to be home 6am and 6pm 365 days a year or pay someone $100 a day to milk cows. So we made changes for our family and our mental health. But even then, animals need watered because auto waters for all the animals just aren’t in our budget yet. Between my mom, dad and step-parents, we have the absolute best support for keeping our critters hydrated while we get away and enjoy some family time. I couldn’t be more thankful for their help and the time we get to spend with our children away from home because of them. Don’t take involved family for granted. Especially when you’re a crazy animal lady!

We had some apples from someone local for
the livestock that were still in decent condition so instead of feeding them whole, we decided to try the apple press that my husband got me at auction a couple years back. I was honestly skeptical about it but the kids had the absolute best time getting some fresh pressed c***r for our family and the animals enjoyed all the scraps! It was a huge success.
