Welcome to the weekend. We are excited about moving into produce. Our natural and experienced area is far more produce than plants. My father started to show me how to sell produce at least 50 years ago. We often comment that we are dealing with farmers who are the grandchildren of those with whom my Dad started building a relationship decades ago.
That journey includes a lot of you. We have customers who have been with our family for 25 years or more. We appreciate that deeply. The journey has always been about getting locally grown produce into the hands of neighbors and friends at a value price. I like to think we continue to meet that vision.
This weekend, we have Tomatoes at $1.00 each(I suspect we will sell out of them before the end of the weekend). We have fresh garlic with stalks for $2.00 each, Cucumbers and Yellow Zucchini also $2.00 each, Red Potatoes $4.00/qt container, Onions are 2/$1.00, Hanging Baskets are now $10.00 each, Geraniums for $5.00 each.
This weekend, we will also have our homemade soaps and bath bombs available. All made with local natural ingredients with no unnecessary chemicals or additives. Additionally, we will have our homegrown freeze-dried mushrooms. (We will not have any fresh mushrooms this weekend. We did not harvest any)
We look forward to seeing and greeting you this weekend.

I hear it has been asked of me to share my Red Beet Egg recipe. Mine are a bit different than the normal ones since I use fresh beets to make them. All you need to do is cook a couple of beets before you add all the extras to them to make the brine.
What you will need is a bunch of beets, scrubbed, tops removed, and skin still on, sliced thin.
1 Large Onion
1C Sugar
1C Vinegar
2 dz Hard-Boiled Eggs
Any flavors you normally add, such as spices like cinnamon, clove, allspice, herbs, or garlic
After you scrub and slice the beets, slice the onion and add them both to a gallon pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook the beets until fork-tender.
After they are fork-tender, you can add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for another five minutes. As the beets have been cooking, you can shell the eggs and get them ready. After the eggs are done and the brine is simmered, it's time to layer the beets and eggs. I use a gallon jar, use whatever you have. Start with some beets (the onion will come along), then add some eggs, repeat this layer until all the eggs are in, and the last layer is beets. Now pour the brine over until covered, loosely place the lid on until warm. After which, you can screw the lid on tight and place them in the fridge. The next day, you will have very dark red beet eggs, and the longer they sit, the further the dye will pe*****te into the egg.
Enjoy them with a sandwich, on a salad, or by themselves. In the fridge, they have lasted a couple of weeks for me. And if you have some brine left, you can save it and try pickling something else with it. Enjoy!
