Unfortunately, some of our eggs in the egg fridge have frozen due to the extreme weather we’ve been experiencing. Here’s some important information about frozen eggs to keep in mind:
🥚 If the shell has cracked from the egg freezing, you will want to discard of that egg as bacteria may have been able to enter through the shell.
🥚 If the egg froze and the shell remained intact, thaw the frozen egg in your fridge - not on the counter - and use as normal.
🥚 Eggs that have frozen might have a different texture (syrupy/geltanous yolks) so they will be best used in baked goods or scrambled, not sunny side up.

📣 Big news straight from the coop!! 🐓 The ladies are molting, so we’re a little slow on egg production right now. We do have turkey and duck eggs available! Never tried them? Here’s some facts:
🦃 Turkey eggs taste just like chicken eggs (we eat them easy over just like with chicken eggs). The shells are a little harder to crack, they’re beautifully speckled, and they have a higher protein content than chicken eggs.

🦆 Duck eggs are SUPERIOR for baking. They will make the fluffiest cakes, quiches and baked goods! They have a richer taste than a chicken egg and are generally larger in size.

🔔 Our egg fridge is open year round!! 🔔 Some of the girls are still finishing their molt, but ALL of the girls are enjoying worms, a cozy coop, and lots of veggie scraps. We have chicken, turkey, and duck eggs all stocked in the egg fridge, so feel free to pop by to purchase!
