These six boxes represent a half of a beef.
The hanging carcass half weight for this animal was 366 pounds.
My “boxed beef” is about 225 pounds.
If you were to purchase this half beef from me, your bill would have been $1943.80 TOTAL.
That includes me delivering the animal to the butcher, the animal, the processing, and these really amazing people boxing it up and loading it into your vehicle.
Well. That’s a lot of money, isn’t it?
Let’s break it down a bit.
You are getting:
Ground beef. You chose to have half of your half made strictly into ground beef.
The other quarter includes: brisket, roasts, stew meat, soup bones, ribeyes and T-bones.
Your Total/take home beef averages out to about $8.64 a pound as you put it into your freezer.
This half beef will cost you $37 a week over the next year, should your family of four stretch it that far.
If you eat at home OFTEN, this beef will cost you closer to $70 a week.
All consumers in this country are FREE to decide how to spend their hard earned dollars.
For my family? We cook at home. We eat at home.
It means that we choose beef, other animal proteins, and then fill in the rest with our grocery shopping. I know where I choose to put my hard earned dollars.
The key is deciding and knowing.
I won’t tell you what to do, but I will say this…..if you want to start choosing differently, you CAN. It all begins with knowing your values, your budget, and taking the time to put on your thinking cap.
I can help. Thousands of us stand at the ready to help you, should you want it.
Now…to find my muscles and start putting this away!!!!!
