Lori’s 68th Birthday 11/8/2022
Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday Dearest Lori! Happy Birthday to You!
“Love you forever and forever, Love you with all my heart. Love you whenever we’re together, Love you when we’re apart …”
Aren’t birthdays great when you never age from year to year? But remember when you wished you looked a bit older? When you would meet sales people at the door and they would ask to speak to your mother? And you would tell them “I AM THE MOTHER!”
This year we’ll celebrate your birthday with the other family birthdays in November, as we most often did when you were here. Well, we sure miss you! Family gatherings were generally more lively when you were in the group!
You know birthday presents for you are harder than ever now! Since we can’t send anything to where you are, we have to get more creative! I have to think about what you would appreciate seeing or hearing from heaven!
Though I can still speak and write to you, I do miss hearing your thoughts about a huge number of things! There is always so much for us to discuss about our family, our farm, our church, world events, memories, the Bible, shows we watch/watched and books we read … I can imagine your advice pretty well on things – but it’s still a lot better hearing it first hand!
I sometimes wish you were here particularly to see the youngest grandchildren – those who have grown so much and ones you never got to see on earth. But then I remember you can probably see them just fine from heaven, though you can’t physically be with them. But you do have one clear advantage over me, you also get to see our grandkids that I have never seen: Christian, Betsy, Ethan, Mara, Carter and Ra’ah!
We’ve had a good many new folks come to our church since your departure. Wish you were here to meet them and they you!
Have a great birthday in heaven! I am including a few memorable pictures both for us and others to enjoy!
Love you always!
David
