“I can safely say that there’s not a thing I can grow right now that I can’t sell.”
There’s momentum in local food sales, and as podcast guests Sarah Lindblom & Josh Reinitz agree, small-scale farmers continuing to prioritize food safety practices builds trust in the broader farm-to-table movement.

Thank you St. Peter Food Co-op & Deli for the amazing work you do! My early childhood memories include visiting the original coop location, and they were eager to buy our produce when we started farming 12 years ago.

The only thing we like more than talking about food is talking with our favorite local producers.

I tend to not watch the weather reports, because when I do they sometimes give me false hope. Last night I lost sleep for two hours, obsessively checking the radar for a rain event that was forecasted but never came. Not even a drop. I finally accepted our near drought conditions and was able to fall asleep when I settled on a plan to set up field irrigation way ahead of schedule. So here’s some farmer plumbing projects today! I had to rebuild our irrigation hydrant which was leaking really bad, and set up some waterlines across the farm. I‘ll put my trust in Bob Dylan instead : “you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows” @ East Henderson Farm

The first of the Brussels Sprouts are in! We are planting somewhere around 4000-5000 plants this year, to supply the Minneapolis Public Schools, and more! They are in some of the nicest soil we’ve ever had on the farm, thanks to 10+ years of organic management and a focus on the soil health principles. Bonus: the wild plums are about to burst into bloom ☺️ @ East Henderson Farm

Dusting off the ol’ social media accounts for the farm! Our farming season begins just after the MOSES organic conference, and today was tree tapping day. It was sooooo warm and sunny for us Minnesota folks. Bonus: we found a Shrike stash - a mouse impaled on a thorn by a predatory bird for a future meal @ Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota
