Craft spirits are hot and nothing is selling faster than Single Barrel, Cask Strength, Artisan Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Dunbar, was a Kentucky mail carrier during the prohibition era, and one of the first members of his rural community to drive an automobile. l is to create authentic, sustainably-made spirits, of unparalleled flavor & quality, using time-honored recipes, traditional methods and local ingredients. We have turned to Kickstarter in order to raise the funds for a hybrid copper still which will allow us to produce approximately 10,000 cases of handcrafted bourbon, rye, vodka, gin and brandy each year. Old Dunbar is truly a FAMILY project, in every sense of the word. In addition to my own 20+ years of hands-on industry experience (as an executive chef and wholesale wine & spirits distributor), I have enlisted the help of several passionate & knowledgeable friends and relatives with backgrounds in brewing, distilling, winemaking, metalworking & fabrication, sustainable/organic farming, architecture, chemistry, mixology, graphic design, packaging, distribution, sales and marketing. If we manage to exceed our $100,000 Kickstarter funding goal, any additional money raised in this campaign will be used for the build-out of our distillery (in the Colonel's birthplace of Henderson County, Kentucky) which is expected to fall somewhere in the $2.5 Million range. To achieve this goal, we need the help of ALL our friends, family, acquaintances and, of course, the generosity of strangers.
