At Back to Basics Farm, we believe animals should be raised the way God intended — on fresh pasture, with room to roam, fresh air, sunshine, and a natural diet.
That’s why we rotate all of our animals regularly across our pastures and woodlands. Rotational grazing gives the animals constant access to fresh grass and forage, while also allowing the land time to rest and recover naturally. Healthier soil produces healthier pasture, which helps create healthier animals and better food for your family.
Our cattle and sheep are 100% grass fed and grass finished because that is what ruminant animals were designed to eat. We choose not to grain-finish because we want our animals growing naturally on nutrient-rich pasture from start to finish.
We also work hard to avoid antibiotics and vaccines whenever possible by focusing on clean living conditions, low stress environments, fresh pasture rotation, and proper nutrition. Healthy animals raised naturally simply tend to stay healthier.
Some of our animals are supplemented with a soy-free, non-GMO feed to ensure they get the extra nutrition they need while still maintaining the quality standards we believe in. We put a lot of thought into every ingredient and every practice used on our farm because we truly care about the food we provide to our community.
What started as a simple homestead in 2017 has grown into something much bigger — a mission to provide local families with food they can trust and feel good about feeding their loved ones.
Thank y’all for supporting local farming and believing in what we do!
