🍑 Opening Day Update 🍑

We've been hard at work getting the market ready for our 60th season! While we had hoped to open a few days earlier, recent weather conditions have slowed peach ripening just enough that we are now planning to open on Thursday, June 4.

The peach pictured above is a Redhaven, a variety that normally wouldn't be showing this much color this early in the season. While Redhavens may not be ready when we open, they won't be far behind!

The entire peach crop is still running several weeks ahead of its typical schedule, which means many of your favorite peach varieties will likely arrive earlier than usual this year. Be sure to follow along here and watch your email for updates as different cultivars come into season.

We’ll be back Henryetta Farmers Market Saturdays 9am to 2pm, tomorrow morning with lots of good things for you!!!

Carrots, radishes, turnips, onions, kale, Swiss chard, turnip greens, mustard greens, cabbage, lettuce heads and mixed lettuce bags.

Also, the first of the season SAND PLUM JELLY!!!

I didn’t do fried pies last weekend, but I am this week. A few days after the fact but I will be doing the Red(cherry) White (apple) and Blue ( blueberry) in honor of America’s hero’s who gave their all!!! BTW- any public servants who stop by in uniform, get a free pie while supplies last. This includes police/ fire/ EMS…

And it’s “almost” peach season!!! I’m ready for the taste of those wonderful Porter peaches from Livesay Orchards- aren’t you???😋😋😋😋😋

UPDATE!!We are on our way… Got some beautiful turnip greens, a few turnips, beautiful Swiss Chard and blue ruffled kale 

Depending on the weather we may 1. Run late, or 2. Come without picking the Chard, Kale and turnip greens.

Not excited about picking during a lightning storm. Rain I can handle….

Good thing is that we picked , cleaned and packed the lettuce/radishes and onions late last night!!

We are set up on the corner out here by Casey’s for a couple hours. I do still have a few nice looking beefsteak, tomato plants, a few better boys, lots of peppers, basil, oregano, lemon balm, few zucchini plants. We also brought some kale , green onions and some radishes.

Also candied jalapeños, candied hot pepper mix, and a couple jars of chowchow …

not sure what the weather is gonna look like in the morning for the market so come by and grab some stuff today !!

The garden is loving the rain and cool weather!!
