FALSE--- If you see this going around on your gardening pages... it's not true. Even more unfortunate that I found it on a page named regenerative agriculture. People honestly just share whatever.

Here's the truth:
Yes they suppress certain types of nematodes in the soil, but mainly root knot nematodes which will destroy your plants. If you're rotating crops yearly as you should, this can actually be a great help in managing crop damaging pests.
Social media is full of information, it's not always true.
Plant your marigolds friends 🌱

Another FACT: First hand experience here: insects and bunnies both love them and keep coming back for more so they're obviously not all that bad 😉

There's so much beauty in every stage of it to me.

Oh my goodness! We are just now getting pictures back from a May wedding that we were so honored to grow and design the flowers for!

And this bride is just glowing!

I also wanted to show you that YES, fresh-grown cosmos can absolutely be used in a bridal bouquet! I've seen so much online from florist that choose silk because they can't make them work 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s all about when they’re harvested and how you condition them.

Look at these gorgeous flowers we had blooming for this end of May wedding. 🌸

I just love getting to grow flowers specifically for our couples and their wedding days. Leayla... you are beautiful!! Thank you for letting me flower your big day!

Notes and thoughts from the farm: harrowing done on new field , we have just one more pass and a raking, and then we can begin creating our beds 💜 it's been a huge planting weekend here at our place for September and October flowers, the next 1,000 are now getting acclimated for planting hopefully this week. A modest little harvest this morning, availability updated for our design customers, 💭 Tractor tires are insanely expensive and so is compost, Looking forward to some meetings this week, a venue walkthrough, and garden club 🪴 We're still sowing seed and Mocha Jake is amazing (the Dahlia shown here) Fresh cut and looking gorgeous! August is pretty good so far! These are redemption flowers coming in, because summer was kind of cruel lol!

Fall subscriptions will be something to talk about though 🤩

I haven’t been talking much about our Fall Bouquet Subscription lately because, honestly, we’ve been so busy here on the farm and with all the family things that it slipped my mind until an order came through this morning!

Little farm update:

Hey y’all 👋
Our dahlias that were cut back on July 1 are sending up gorgeous new stems, our newest successions of gladiolus and zinnias are beginning to bloom, and we’re flipping beds while preparing for an incredible fall season.

We have thousands of seedlings hardening off and even more still growing, all destined for our fields over the next several weeks. At the same time, we’re already planning for Spring 2027 (and yes…I somehow ended up with 14 varieties of snapdragons! ). Also... Yes I'm growing all of them!

Behind the scenes we’re preparing for two big and beautiful fall weddings, meeting with 2027 and even 2028 brides, walking through venues, helping our DIY couples, updating our florist portal ( that had a cool but wild update) so add in tech support , and trying to stay one step ahead of everything that’s coming. Ohhh and also purchasing deer fencing materials for the new location .. EXPENSIVE!

We’re also on the hunt for a 6×12 or 7×12 enclosed cargo trailer, so if you know of one for sale, send us a message!

Whew... and Thank you Lord Jesus for knowing our needs more than we do! As our harvest has slowed for a short and scorching late summer, He’s made room for all the work that has to happen before the next big wave of blooms arrives—and we’re so grateful!!

Have a wonderful week ,
a picture of our gorgeous marigolds = normally bunny food but this year they're getting netted in completely! Bunnies are ruthless! They'll eat cosmos, marigolds celosia and amaranth for sure!
So if you're growing these for fall, protect them!

I don't have a catchy or sentimental caption for y'all today. But here's this evenings harvest bucket, yes, singular bucket 😂 I did this to myself on purpose.. now look at me.... wishing I'd planted more. But then we wouldn't have been able to go on vacation a few weeks back. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY .... Farm life 🫠 😮‍💨 The Dahlias are on their way though. I'm back to bagging buds on that mid May planting, so it won't be long.

This color palette deserves its own standing ovation.
