The personalities of the dwarf papillions are really different than the commercial rabbits, definitely closer to the jersey woolys. The JW and DP are parrots, they will perch upon your shoulder and whisper secrets in your ear!

Rex: broken lynx buck we have been growing out, he likes to p*e himself, I might rename him goat instead of rhino or w.e his animal name is that I can’t recall anyways…

he is a grandson of Elia, I am hoping he might be his replacement.

We are getting ready for our next Heinold order, let me know if you want in by end of week.

That is a pallet of Heinold feed we loaded and unloaded last evening! 💪🫠🥵
We had to take delivery at another location with an appropriate driveway. But we passed the pilot run!

We are wrapping up our 9th year breeding and showing rabbits, and it has been a great year! We won classes at convention in Rex and Argente Bruns, and placed with Jersey Woolys. We placed well in classes at Nationals for Bruns and Woolys. We had our first reserve in show for Woolys and Bruns, and our first best in show with Rex!

We added some marked breeds, harlequin and dwarf papillon, to the barn to learn more about them. And the chocolate agouti and lynx huberts project in the 3rd and 4th generation are starting to look good! And we added more varieties of woolys! 🫣

We feel like our dedication and hard work is starting to pay off after years of struggling. And we have good relationships and even friendships with breeders we respect and admire.

At the Carrollton GA show yesterday, our chestnut Jersey Wooly buck was the star of the day, he was RIS in the wool specialty under Alan Rafferty and RIS in show B under Zach Newman!! Harvill’s Danger Zone is bred by Ethan Harvill.

Some people do not realize we also breed chin rex. David loves chin, and pushed to have black chin in our barn after we started getting chocolate chins from his ambers.

Rex: Broken Lynx buck looking for new ladies.
Elia has been my best herd buck. Half of my show string from the last 2 years is due to him. He is the grandsire of the opal buck that was open BIS this summer and the lilac junior doe who has been BoB and the sire of the amber doe that won her class at convention. Three of his sons, and one grandson are getting all the action these days.
Elia is a great buck, and can really help someone out. His early top line is strait and not overly curved as you find on a lot of short bodied rabbits. He really improved body length when bred to longer bodied does. And he is wide and full to the table at the base. He needs more width of hips, and rufus.
He has lived without AC for much of his life, but has been in AC since late June this year.
He carries for self, and is a lilac agouti lynx. He has not produced chin.

She is known as the mother of chins in our barn, nearly every litter she produced, the best in the litter was a chin. We bred her offspring to a black otter carrying for white to make black chins.
She produces very even fur, dense, and lots of rufus, and she is wide band. Her width of hips and peak placement have kept her around. She is our oldest rex brood doe, at 4.
But she also carries for the otters we used to have, and I am hoping to make more.
She looks good today, posting this picture for our photo archive.

Rex: It is finally cool enough to use the love shack! 🤎🥰🤎
I like to use the wire pen because it is easier to reach in and separate if they get too wild. The commercial rabbits are more powerful, if the does want to tell a buck no, some do it with teeth! Gotta always chaperone them just in case one is extra spicy.

Rex: Looks like 4 tri, a brindle, and 2 full extension out of my harlequinized lynx doe and a blue fawn tri buck. Very small side project, only 2 holes!
I love watching broken patterns in the nest box. It is so weird compared to what we have bred previously. Always something new to learn in cunniculture!
