My first batch of humble potato bread. Europeans started using the leftover spuds mixed with spelt or rye to stretch grain, especially when wheat crops had failed. Now, I should have waited until the bread cooled before slicing, but we were ready for breakfast. This is such a simple bread, so even if you're not " a baker," making this will be a cinch. I can't wait to try it with rye flour.

I used to have this super secret little seating and writing area in the back of my property, until hurricane Helene decided to uproot my tulip poplar tree and block access. I should say human access. Goats and chickens have access to said reading nook. Anyway, adapt and overcome! We are transforming the old goose area into a new outdoor seating area. I'm really excited to watch this space take shape.

I let them run wild and reclaim their home this year. More beautiful than anything I would have cultivated. It's amazing what getting out of the way and minding your own business births.

Instead of the Texas chainsaw massacre, it's a Georgia boxwood butchery. Disgusting Buxus sempervirens be gone and make way for a native shrub. I'm doing this in stages so stay tuned. Stage 1 was hedge trimmer and polesaw
