The Warner Seeds commercial and R&D teams will be across Central and South Texas over the next several weeks, and we’re excited to showcase the newest product developments and portfolio advancements coming through the pipeline.

These locations provide an important early look at product performance before the Plains region begins planting and production decisions are finalized. The humid environments across Central and South Texas create ideal conditions for evaluating disease tolerance, while also giving us an opportunity to analyze regrowth potential and recovery in our multicut forage products.

Plot tour season is one of the best times of year because it brings together breeding, agronomics, and commercial teams to see what’s working, what’s next, and where we can continue improving products for our customers.

Two weeks made a big difference in Central Texas.

Our forage plots in Taylor, TX put on enough growth over the last 14 days that the sales team was able to shred rows for future demonstration of regrowth potential. It’s always exciting to see products respond under real-world conditions.

Sorghum aphids have also begun to show up in the plots, giving our team another opportunity to continue screening forage products for the unique aphid tolerance offered by WSI genetics. The grain sorghum entries are not far behind either. Heads are just starting to emerge, and these plots should be ready to tour in the next couple of weeks.

Plot tour season is one of the best times of the year. Nothing beats getting into the field to see the genetics work firsthand.

Plots are coming along in Hutto, TX. Planted March 15, this Warner Seeds forage demo is tracking right on schedule and should be ready for first cut and regrowth demonstrations within the next two weeks.

This year, the work coming out of Dr. Raghu Sripathi’s forage program has delivered a wave of new products to the commercial team, allowing WSI to more than double our forage demo entries. These plots are a key step in training our customer base on the new and unique products that will be available in 2027.

Looking forward to plot tour season and the opportunity to get boots on the ground with our retail partners.

Great weekend in Kansas supporting the annual NSP Golf Tournament and connecting with partners across the sorghum industry.

Ahead of the tournament, Warner Seeds and ADAMA hosted an evening focused on Double Team Sorghum Cropping Solutions and the continued evolution of the DT trait. We had a strong group of retail partners and regional seed companies join us for a night of discussion and networking.

Dr. Payne Burks kicked things off with a deep dive into the history of the DT trait, from early discovery through initial commercialization, and what the upcoming DT2 launch means for the future. He also shared a look at additional technologies in development that continue to push sorghum forward.

Hunter Johnson followed with an overview of herbicide label updates, best use practices, and how DT2 will impact in-field application strategies, along with a great Q&A session with the seedsmen in attendance.

The next day, Warner Seeds and ADAMA were proud to co-sponsor the NSP Golf Tournament under the Double Team platform. With five teams in play and a wide range of customers represented, it was a great day on the course. We also enjoyed connecting with fellow attendees at our sponsored hole and sharing a sorghum-based beer as a fun way to highlight the versatility of the crop we are all working to advance.

A big thank you to National Sorghum Producers for hosting another outstanding event. We appreciate the partnership and look forward to building on this momentum for years to come.

Warner Seeds was proud to be part of this year’s Texas Seed Trade Association (TSTA) Annual Conference in Fort Worth at the Worthington Hotel. The event brought together seed industry friends, colleagues, and partners from across the state for education, networking, and a whole lot of fun!

⛳️ In one of our featured photos, Warner Seeds’ own Tanner Antonick and Rusty Bevel are playing in the TSTA 2-Man Scramble golf tournament, going head-to-head with Braxton Coor (West Gaines Seed) and Seth Moss (East Texas Seed Company). A great day on the greens supporting our industry!

Our second photo highlights the spirited energy of the TSTA Co****le Tournament, a fun way members and friends connected while raising funds for scholarships and advocacy.

As many of you know, the Texas Seed Trade Association works hard to support the seed industry in Texas. TSTA represents seed producers and suppliers, advocates for fair policies, and promotes high-quality seed production, all while supporting education through scholarship programs that help grow the next generation of agriculture professionals.

Warner Seeds is proud to be a TSTA member and encourages other seed companies and industry partners to join this strong voice for agriculture in Texas!

We’re excited to welcome Jeremy Hayward to the Warner Seeds, Inc. team as Account Manager, effective January 1. Jeremy will work with Warner customers across the U.S. and Canada to help expand reach and acres with Warner Seeds sorghum products.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in seed and agronomy marketing, with leadership roles spanning branded distribution, national forage and turf businesses, and private label sorghum seed. His background also includes deep roots in agriculture, growing up on a dairy, beef, hay, and small grain operation in southwest Missouri, along with advanced education in forage physiology.

“Jeremy’s deep forage expertise is a great addition to Warner Seeds and will allow us to elevate customer service and expand training opportunities for our customers across the U.S.,” said Tanner Antonick, Commercial Lead for Warner Seeds.

Jeremy and his three sons live in Ozark, Missouri, where they stay busy with sports and working their home farm. We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the impact he’ll make with our customers and partners.

While it’s currently winter, the Warner Seeds team is planning its spring and summer R&D and commercial advancements, and 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for innovation. At last week’s 2026 Product Advancement Meeting, we introduced a game-changing forage hybrid: P4008.

✅ Conventional mid-rib
✅ Aphid tolerant
✅ Single-cut silage hybrid

This high-tonnage product was advanced from start to finish by Dr. Raghu Sripathi, who took over Warner Seeds’ R&D/Breeding program in fall 2023. P4008 marks his first set of genetics developed entirely under his leadership, and it’s poised to become an industry standard across the plains.

📅 What’s next?

Summer 2026: Soft launch with broad testing across geographies for additional data collection.
Full commercial release: Large-scale seed production this summer for widespread availability in the 2027 growing season.

Here’s a look at Raghu Sripathi with P4008 in Garden City, KS (Sept 2025). Be on the lookout for it in plots this summer!

Harvest in Action!

Production harvest is in full swing across our sorghum fields, and we’re excited to share a glimpse of the process. This video captures the harvest of a parent seed block alongside one of our key forage hybrids, showcasing the strength of our genetics and the dedication of our team in the field.

It’s a busy and rewarding time as we wrap up the 2025 growing season. Wishing the best of luck to all the seed companies and growers out there working hard to finish up their harvests!

Thanks Alex Soria for the videos.
