Whip up some delectable Sourdough Discard Buttermilk Biscuits. They’re the best homemade biscuits, even without using sourdough discard!

SAVE These easy, homemade biscuits are soft, flaky, made completely from scratch and can be on your table in about 30 minutes!

Ingredients:
*2 cups Arrowhead Mills All Purpose Flour
*1 tbsp baking powder
*2 tsp granulated sugar
*1 ½ tsp kosher salt
*½ cup unsalted butter, frozen (can substitute vegan butter if needed)
*1 cup sourdough starter discard (unfed)
*½ cup buttermilk (substitute nondairy milk + 2 tsp lemon juice)
*Melted butter, for topping

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and kosher salt.
3. Using a box grater, grate the frozen butter directly into the dry ingredients. Alternatively, you can cut the butter into small cubes and work it into the flour with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the sourdough starter discard and buttermilk until well combined.
5. Pour the sourdough mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until the dough just comes together, being careful not to over-mix.
6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or glass to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one. Gather and re-pat any scraps to cut out more biscuits.
7. Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown on top. Brush with melt d butter before serving.
