SCAMMERS!!!!! We all know the absolute best way to avoid SCAMMERS is to come directly to the swap and talk to the owners face to face. But if you're going to try and buy off FB sites here are some tips to avoid them. (We're not experts, but these have helped us on our purchases)
1. Go to their page and look who is following them. It's pretty obvious when they aren't local producers.
2. "Seller" won't send you pics in a timely matter, and if they do, make sure the backgrounds look similar. Most breeders have pics ready of their stock.
3. Never put money down till you do your research. And if you do, use a service that can help protect you from fraud.
Ask for pics, ask for a video of the farm, ask questions about the breed to make sure they know something.
4. If it's too good to be true, it is! Every. time. Birds are going nuts this year, please be careful and we cant wait to see you at the swap!
