Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the moms out there. 🌻

Sharing a pic of what Karen has been busy doing! As you notice this is not the actual flower farm but she started a 2nd flower farm out at her house in Owensville to make it easier on her to do while having her kids with her.

She installed Bio360 ground cover yesterday. This is the 1st time we have used it so we will keep you updated on how well it works!

Hello everyone! ☀️

We know we got pretty quiet on here at the end of last season but if you had been following us then you know we both just had had babies that were 2 and 4 months old at the time and we both went back to full on mom mode and soaked up those snuggles after the last sunflower was cut and Hermann Harvest Festival was wrapped up.

But we are happy to say that we are back! And with so many new followers we wanted to do a quick introduction about ourselves and the flower farm.

So first off our flower farm started when my sister, Karen, asked me in 2022 if I wanted to start a flower farm with her. I loved the idea and so we did! We grow and sell our flowers for wholesale and retail markets.The flower farm name is personal as "Kay" is our mom's middle name that she gave to both of us and Karen has passed it down to her daughter, Josie!

Karen is married to Noble Carpenter. They have 2 kids, Henry (2) and Josie (11 months). Karen taught elementary school for 10 years in Owensville, MO and then stopped teaching once she had Henry and is a full time stay at home mom. The flower farm would not be where it is to day without her. I'm truly thankful for her and all the time and work she puts into this. She puts in alot of research into everything we do, what w**d barrier we should use, who to buy seeds from, what seeds and how much we should plant and when, etc.

And now for me! I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Ben Schaeffer and we live just outside of Hermann, MO - close to the flower farm. We have 4 boys! Levi (8), Luke (6), Lane (2) and Liam (8 months). The boys keep Ben and I extremely busy. Besides being their momma and helping at the flower farm I am a full time ultrasound tech. Flower farm wise I'm typically the one posting on our pages, I help with growing the flowers and I do most of the arranging for our bouquets/personal orders!

Sometimes the timing of when plants are going to bloom is unpredictable. We always try to calculate but weather plays such a huge role in that, that all you can do is plant and pray they bloom when you need them!

👉🏻👉🏻The first TWENTY FIVE {Adults} in line the morning of the event will receive a SWAG BAG full of GOODIES (must be at the 4th Street entrance)👈🏻👈🏻

🚨 🚨 ENTRANCE TO THIS EVENT IS ON EAST 4TH STREET & GUTENBERG STREET {✌🏻 Entrances This Year} 🚨🚨 5TH STREET WILL BE CLOSED

🛍Please Note Some Vendors Will be 💵 & Carry Only, While Others Will Take 💳 So Please Come Prepared! TIA 🛍

◾Admission is $5(Cash only at the gate)
kids 2 & under are FREE and parking is FREE

◾Cash is KEY
Most vendors take cards but not all so come prepared and grab some cash

◾Make it a girls day, day date, or family outing. There is something for everyone!

◾Plan to spend the day! Over 80 booths, plus KID ZONE, & food & drink vendors! Yep, that's right 4 food trucks, whiskey, beer and swirl! You will be set! What more does a person need?

◾Bring your wagons/carts/strollers to haul your amazing finds!

◾Show will go on rain or shine, so we will see you there!!

◾Parking: Gutenberg Street (both sides), Gutenberg Parking Lot, and the Hermann Riverfront

How it started versus how it's going!

August 4, we planted 500 sunflower seeds! 🌻

2 days ago we had our 1st out of the 500 bloom - just 1 all by itself.

Now today - I harvested 84 🌻 this morning and then another 45 this evening! 129 sunflowers all in 1 day!

Such a blessing to see the seeds we planted grow and then such a joy to be able to harvest them!

Also, Hermann Harvest Festival is coming up next Saturday, September 27! Be sure to come see us!

Pick up at Hermann Farmer's Market Saturday, August 23 from 9:00-10 AM for pre-orders only!

Bouquets include:
-Sunflowers - orange or plums (limited # of plums)
-Zinnias
-Plume celosia

-Cinnamon or lemon basil
