ROOK TO KNIGHT’S FARM HOP MASTER LIST FOR
HERNANDO COTTAGE BAKERS AND FARMSTANDS

📍 HERNANDO

👑 Queen of the coop -442 E Benjamin St, Hernando, FL 34442
7 days a week, 9am-sunset
Payment methods accepted: Cash, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App & Venmo
Call/Text: (352) 476-6068
Email: [email protected]
Rain or shine, the stand remains open even when the door is closed.
If you love those little farm stands where you stop for one thing and somehow leave carrying five completely different things, Queen of the Coop belongs on your Farm Hop list. Christine has created an old fashioned honor system farm stand packed with homegrown, homemade and locally produced goods, and she is constantly dreaming up something new.
Depending on availability, you may find fresh eggs, raw local honey, poultry products, chicks and other seasonal farm offerings. Shelves rotate with homemade jams, fruit butters and other goodies, recent jars have included Plum Jam, Peach Mango Jam, Blueberry Jam and Apple Butter. You might also find Toasted Coconut & Cranberry Granola, sweet-and-sassy candied hot peanuts and other small batch creations. Christine also makes an ever-growing selection of products beyond the pantry, including goat’s milk soaps, tallow-based creams and other handcrafted goods. Recent creations have included vanilla and lavender tallow creams and her Beauty Berry Bug Repellent. And when I say she is always experimenting, I mean it, she has even been putting that raw local honey to work in creations like fermented garlic honey.💚 A little extra reason to stop: This one is especially close to my heart. Christine was one of the very first people to take a chance on what I was trying to build with the Farm Hop, long before it became what it is today. And she really does embody what this whole thing is about. She is seemingly ten steps ahead at all times, constantly thinking, creating, experimenting and finding another way to make her little farm business better, but somehow, underneath all that ambition, she remains one of the sweetest and most genuinely supportive souls you could ever be lucky enough to meet. Watching Queen of the Coop continue to grow is exactly why supporting these little places matters. Every egg carton, jar of jam, bar of soap or bag of granola purchased here supports a real person, a real family and a local dream that just keeps getting bigger. 💚

🥐 Whisk This-293 E Dusty Ct, Hernando, FL 34442
Open 7am-sunset
Payment methods accepted: Cash, Cash App & Venmo
Pre-orders, updates, and pop up appearances: Follow Whisk This on Facebook
A little honor system micro bakery tucked away in Hernando, Whisk This keeps its self-serve stand stocked with an ever-changing rotation of homemade sweets, meaning you never quite know what temptation might be waiting when you stop by.
The menu changes with each bake, but past offerings have included chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies, peanut butter blossoms, several flavors of loaded s’mores cookies, brownies, coffee cake, banana breads, Rice Krispie treats, muffins and plenty of seasonal creations. Specialty desserts like Biscoff cheesecake have made appearances too. They aren’t afraid to experiment, either. Whisk This has begun branching into additional options, including vegan desserts, and is exploring gluten-free, healthier and higher-protein choices as the bakery continues to grow.
Custom orders: Pre-orders and custom orders are welcomed when availability allows, so it’s worth reaching out through their page if you have something special in mind.
💚 A little extra reason to stop: This is exactly the kind of micro bakery that’s fun to follow because it is still growing, experimenting and finding its identity. One week may bring familiar comfort-food favorites; the next could bring a new cheesecake, seasonal cookie or their very first vegan creation. Even better, they actively ask their local customers what they’d like to see next, making this feel like a little neighborhood bakery that’s being built right alongside the community.

🥚 Simmons Still Waters Farm -1321 E Amberjack Dr, Hernando, FL 34442
Open daily
Phone: (606) 682-3403
Tucked beneath the trees in Hernando, Simmons Still Waters Farm is a five acre homestead where goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, mini donkeys and pups are all part of daily farm life, and their rustic little farm stand gives the community a chance to enjoy some of what they’re producing right there at home.
What you may find: Farm-fresh eggs, Garden fresh tomatoes, including heirloom varieties. Cucumbers and other seasonal vegetables. A rotating selection of homegrown and farm produced goods
Their garden has grown right along with the farm stand, so produce will naturally change with the season and what’s ready to harvest.
💚 A little extra reason to stop: This is one of those wonderfully simple Farm Hop stops that reminds you what buying local actually looks like. The tomatoes aren’t traveling hundreds of miles to reach a supermarket shelf, they’re coming out of the garden behind the stand. And with a whole little homestead of animals being raised on five acres, this is very much a real family farm in progress, growing one season, one harvest and one customer at a time.🌾 Follow Simmons Still Waters Farm on Facebook for current stand offerings and what’s coming out of the garden: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61587834470136

CoCo, our precious, rambunctious CoCo.
She's always doing something to entertain us!
She's a smart one. She figured out she can jump on the donkey's back to reach the yummy leaves and they just buck her off when they get annoyed with her 😆
