Q: Can I donate my pet to Frying Pan Farm Park?
A: Frying Pan does not accept animal donations.

Each spring, after families get rabbits as pets, many soon find out that caring for rabbits takes more effort than they realized. Parents regretting their rabbit purchase may assume they can donate the animal to Frying Pan Farm Park.

Not true.

Here are some of the reasons why: (1) the health of the animal can’t be verified; (2) the rabbit might not get along with our farm animals, and (3) the farm doesn’t have the space.

Plus: the park has thousands of visitors every year. Moving a former pet to Frying Pan can overwhelm an animal who's used to being around just three or four humans.

If you need a new home for a former pet, please contact an animal shelter or a rescue organization instead of Frying Pan Farm Park. Thanks!

Frying Pan Farm Park is now the temporary home of an art installation created by the nonprofit called Community Art for Everyone. CAFE artists and volunteers collected broken chairs, tables, bicycles, electronics, plastic bottles and fans and made them into a sculpture which spells out the word “love.” The sculpture is on display this month in Frying Pan’s Middleton Barn.

Please join us in welcoming this new baby calf to Frying Pan Farm Park! She was born yesterday, May 4, which is known as Star Wars Day. Her name is Leia, after Princess Leia from the Star Wars movies (who, in more recent films, has become General Leia.) You can see mom Helene and baby Leia the next time you visit Frying Pan.
.
(Please note: it is against park regulations for visitors to try to feed the farm animals. For everyone's health and safety, please do not offer any of the animals anything to eat. Thanks!)

So Much to See and Do!

Frying Pan Farm Park is one of the most popular parks in Northern Virginia! This working farm is in Herndon, Virginia, just four miles from Dulles International Airport.

Visit Frying Pan Farm Park and get up close and personal with live farm animals, including horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats and chickens. Learn what life was like on the farm almost 100 years ago; visit historic buildings and see antique equipment.

This 135-acre property is also home to a modern equestrian center, a preschool, and a mile-long nature trail. The farm is open 362 days per year and offers classes, programs and special events for all ages. Plus we have beautiful rental facilities for weddings, birthdays and meetings. 𝔽𝕣𝕪𝕚𝕟𝕘 ℙ𝕒𝕟 𝔽𝕒𝕣𝕞 ℙ𝕒𝕣𝕜 📍 2739 West Ox Rd, Herndon, VA 20171 ⭐️ We visited this farm last year and it was so nice, and I couldn’t believe that it was FREE! I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. A cool fact- the farm is known for preserving and interpreting farm life of the 1920s - 1950s so everything there looks like farm life from back then. They have tractors for the kids to ride on and lots of different farm animals to visit like pigs, cows, chickens, horses, goats, turkeys, ducks, peacocks and other animals common to farms in the early 1900s. There is also a playground and a carousel from the 1920s, which are right next to each other! The farm also has daily wagon rides starting near the carousel area. The 30 min ride goes through the farm, into the woods, past crop fields, and back into the farm yard. The other side of the park, beyond the equestrian areas, has wooded hiking trails near a creek named Frying Pan Branch. During open hours, the barns are open to look at and walk through, as well as the visitor center and store. There are tours to see how farm families lived in the 1920s. There is cow milking every afternoon at 4 p.m. It’s truly amazing how much there is to do at this free farm!!
