“When is the best time to spray soybeans with fungicide?”

Data shows that soybean fungicide applications give the best return at the R3 growth stage.

What to look for: A 3/16 inch pod starting to develop in the four top nodes of the main stem.

Soybeans tend to stay in this stage for 7-8 days before moving past the optimum fungicide window.

It’s exciting to watch a customer’s plan come together as they implement Practical Farm Research proven practices(Lower soybean population, early planting, increased attention to singulation). Looking forward to seeing what the combine says this fall.

Reliance on auxin herbicides is starting to pose some issues. W**d control will have to become a whole system approach going forward to protect the tools we have. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on your w**d control plans, or if you’d like to see what we recommend.

Some Palmer amaranth populations in Tennessee are officially resistant to dicamba and w**d scientists are worried about the efficacy of 2,4-D and glufosinate, as well.

Had a great day sharing a little about farming and the equipment we use on the farm with the students of Barsanti Elementary School on Ft. Campbell this past Thursday. I enjoyed watching all of the kids and adults get excited to climb in the tractor. Tony
