Congratulations to the entire Swinney family for having the Grand Champion Bull over all breeds at the recent South Texas State Fair! Quite an accomplishment for an 11 month old bull calf going up against many more mature bulls. Simba, as he is affectionately known as by the family, continues to improve with the great care that he is receiving. We all feel that he has a very bright future!

Simba was out of a first calf Next Level heifer that we always planned on entering the donor group. Therefore we flushed her as a bred heifer and have 3 black January heifers out of her that will be available in the fall.

The steer was raised by Hillview Farm and is an et calf, Kolt 45 out of our Isabel donor, with multiple calves of this mating becoming champions as they are remarkably consistent. Congratulations to Chelsey Swinney with his excellent performance at the recent Houston Livestock Show. This was the first show for this W/C Hardwire x Next Level x WHF Summer 365j bull calf and there will certainly be more very good days to come. This was the young donor’s first calf with maternal sib black heifers on the ground now out of Good Times and Follow Me.

Congratulations to the Smith and Browning families in Mississippi with their Supreme Female over all breeds at the Northwest Mississippi District Show last weekend. Being a 24 Karat 50% Simmental out of the HLVW Pays To Shine donor, she is yet another full sib to the bull posted below. And another one of the full sisters to stand in front of a Supreme banner. As these full sib heifers grow and mature they keep getting better and better, and they work as cows in the pasture. The photo of the bull was taken back in December and as I was looking at him this morning at feeding, he is a man of a bull. If you want performance cattle with a look, he is surely worthy of consideration.

Bull sales season is upon us, how would you like to have a full sib service age bull to these heifers in your breeding pasture? You know, some times sexed heifer embryos result in bull calves and given the quality of this bull we are really OK with it. He is pictured without being clipped and this October yearling full sib to the heifers will be selling on February 7th at the Union County Bull Sale in Sturgis, KY. He is of the same quality as these heifers that did a good deal of winning as did some of their flush mates. They are sired by 24 Karat and out of our Pays To Shine donor.
