As another fall season approaches, we've found ourselves looking back on everything that's happened at Oxford Farm over the past year. Like every year on the farm, there have been moments of joy, moments of change, and countless reminders of how blessed we are.
One of the hardest changes was saying goodbye to the old farmhouse. It had been a part of Oxford Farm for generations and held so many memories. For safety reasons, we knew it was time to let it go, but that didn't make it any easier. Thankfully, much of the lumber and materials were carefully saved and are now being used to build a cabin. It brings us comfort knowing that a piece of the farmhouse will continue to tell its story. We can't wait to share pictures with you when it's finished.
There has also been plenty of new life around the farm. We welcomed five bull calves and three heifer calves this year, and they've already become some of our favorite little personalities. We know they'll be a favorite with many of our visitors, too.
This season, we're excited to share a few new things with all of you. We're planting our very first Sunflower Field Maze, and later in the season we'll host a You-Cut Sunflower Day. We hope these become new traditions for families to enjoy together.
Opening Weekend will also be especially meaningful as we partner with the Old Jail Quilters to honor ten nominated veterans residing in Osceola and Mecosta Counties. Being able to recognize those who have served our country is something that means a great deal to us, and we're honored to be a small part of it. We'll be sharing more details soon.
We're also excited to be partnering with Osceola County Farm Bureau for a community 5K that will help connect farmers and consumers while bringing people together here on the farm. We'll have local vendors and crafters joining us that day as well, and we can't wait to tell you more in the coming weeks.
Oxford Farm has always been about more than corn mazes, pumpkins, or fall activities. It's about family, community, and making memories that last long after the season ends. Seeing generations of families come back year after year is something we'll never take for granted. Your support means more to us than you know, and because of you, we get to continue doing what we love.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our story. We are looking forward to another beautiful fall, and we can't wait to welcome you back to the farm beginning September 19th & 20th.
