"Goats will Goat", there are days I understand that more than others, yesterday was one of those days 😭

Little Hesperos, my most recent addition, figured out how to get out of his pen yesterday. I was in the shed getting ready to bring the Goats Hay, & he comes just strolling in, proud of himself. I wrangle him back into the Pen & 10 mins later, you guessed it! My neighbor said she just had seen him Army Crawl under the fence! So, again, wrangled him, put him back & sat to watch where he was getting out. This time, he took a running leap & sailed right over the fence, dropping 8 ft w/no issue 😳 He just went on his merry way to the tree branch 🤣 We now have to redo their small Shelter cause that is what he used for his launching pad! Them Goats will sure keep you on your toes 🐐 🖤

If you are a Homesteader, you are compelled to make Sourdough Bread. It is almost as, if you don't, you are a "Homestead Poser" 🤣

I basically am a "Poser" cause my Homestead is mostly useless. I have Farm Animals, but those are for my own joy. One day, I may be a more self-sufficient human, though, not anytime soon...

But today, I made my 1st Sourdough Loaf of the Season.... 🥖

It is Sourdough Season 🥖

I let my Starters die this Summer. I really didn't have the time to babysit Flour & Water. Keeping it in the fridge doesn't work for me either. It takes just as long, or longer, to get it active again. So new ones it is!

I have used Dehydrated Starters & they do work very well. But, they take so long to activate. But these "living" Starters can be active w/in a few days! (I am an impatient sort 😆) I am so excited to make my SD Croissant Loaves again. 🥐 Makes the best French Toast ever!!

Today I finally dumped all my "failure to get into the ground" plants. It really does make me sick thinking about all the work I put into them. I guess not all is lost, they went into my Compost Pile & my Free Range Chickens will be happy.

I am already starting to formulate my plan for next year. Next year will be MY YEAR! 🌱
