On-A-Whim Swiss On-A-Whim is a family owned and operated dairy farm in northern New York. We milk about 30 Brown Swiss and 60 Holsteins and a few jerseys.

The last couple weeks have been very rough around here. Two of our show girls passed recently. On-A-Whim Something Special (Sandy’s last surviving daughter) and Hargrave 1034 Whitie. Such sweet old ladies gone sooner than expected! The silver lining of it is they both had heifer calves this fall to continue their legacies here. Rest easy ladies on that greener pasture 💔❤️

Yesterday was an amazing classification day here at On-A-Whim! Two new Excellent cows and two new permanent Excellent cows.
Our foundation cows, Sandy and Poohbear, had a couple younger offspring shining bright yesterday as well! Something Special, a Cadance daughter out of SnowValley Legacy Sandy, went Ex90 at just over two weeks fresh! Pam, Another Cadance daughter out of Snow Valley Vigor Poohbear, was scored Ex90. Pam is the Fourth Excellent daughter out of Poohbear. Four excellent daughters with three different sires! Poohbear’s great granddaughter On-A-Whim Cadence Pin was scored VG 88 (Excellent mammary) just under two months fresh.
We saved the best for last for the classifier as well, our pink nosed Temptation Gotcha went from 90 to 91 and gained an E. Gotcha is seven years old on her fith lactation and confirmed pregnant with no signs of slowing down! Her second calf 4 year old Dario daughter, fresh in September, was scored VG 88 with an Excellent Mammary.
