💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

This month, Wild Harvest Honey Farm will light up PURPLE to stand against domestic violence and to honor survivors.

We are proud to support our local DOVE branch and will soon be announcing a powerful event to bring our community together in hope and strength.

Let’s shine a light. Let’s break the silence. Let’s stand united.

I wasn’t made to stay silent.
I wasn’t made to follow the rules.
I wasn’t made to keep my head down and accept things the way they were… and I never will.

And neither should you.

The moment you stop apologizing for your power, everything changes. The world gets uncomfortable because women are meant to stay silent, stay small. But you? You were never built for smallness.

Sometimes raising your voice isn’t loud — it’s action. It’s walking into the fire when everyone else tells you it’s impossible. It’s standing your ground even when the whole world wants you to move. That’s where real strength is born.

So here is your reminder tonight:

Your silence won’t save you.
Your voice, your presence, your fight will.

And once you rise, there is no turning back.

Let them think you will stay quiet — then shock them with everything you are.

🐝 Can Venom Help Fight Breast Cancer? The Future of a Bold Discovery

Imagine if something as small as a honeybee—or even a drop of scorpion venom—could hold clues to defeating one of the most aggressive cancers. Scientists around the world are now asking that very question.

Recent studies have shown that venom compounds, especially melittin found in honeybee venom, can destroy breast cancer cells in the lab, including hard-to-treat types like triple-negative and HER2-positive cancers. Even more exciting, these compounds seem to leave healthy cells untouched. In mouse studies, melittin has even shrunk tumors.

Of course, this is still early research. We’re not talking about a ready-to-use cure. Right now, scientists are designing ways to safely deliver these venom compounds using nanoparticles and targeted therapies, so they strike cancer cells without harming the rest of the body. Other studies are testing scorpion venom peptides and even shrew saliva for their cancer-fighting powers.

💡 Why it matters:
This line of research opens the door to a future where nature itself may provide powerful tools in the fight against breast cancer. If successful, venom-based medicines could become part of tomorrow’s cancer treatments, giving patients new hope where few options exist today.

🔬 What’s next:
Over the next few years, expect to see more laboratory studies, animal trials, and hopefully, carefully designed clinical trials in humans. It’s a long road, but the possibility is both fascinating and inspiring.

Wouldn’t it be incredible if one of nature’s oldest defenses could one day save lives? 🐝✨

Hey everyone! Today I had the absolute delight of chatting with a lovely lady from Australia at the farm progress show who introduced me to the amazing world of blue-banded bees! 🐝💙

These little Aussie pollinators are like the cool cousins of our honeybees. They’re known for their striking blue stripes and their special talent called “buzz pollination,” which basically means they vibrate at just the right frequency to help certain flowers release their pollen. How cool is that?

Unlike honeybees, these little guys don’t live in big colonies or make honey, but they’re super important for pollinating native plants. They’re more like solo adventurers who just love to do their own thing.

I couldn’t wait to share this neat little nugget of nature knowledge with all of you! Let’s give a shout-out to our pollinator pals from Down Under for keeping things buzzing. 🌸
