How can you tell when a Republican is lying? Two easy clues are the use of the word hoax, and referencing media reporting as false or hollow.

Desantis administration officials characterized a $10 million portion of a $67 million settlement paid by Centene as a bonus that did not have to be paid back to the state's Medicaid program. This settlement was to compensate Florida for overbilling of Medicaid claims. Centene was instructed to send $10 million to Hope Florida Foundation, the charity created to support first lady Casey DeSantis’ signature initiative to get people off welfare.
Originally the "bonus" amount was $10.7 million, but any amount over $10 million immediately triggers the total amount being sent directly to the state's general budget framework, so the amount was reduced to $10 million.
There were several players, and several not too convoluted transfers of this money, which wound up in Republican hands for political purposes.

I prefer never to use profanity, but sometimes only the profane word will suffice. Perhaps not my finest work, but surely you will never see the likes of this putrid prose publicly posted anywhere else. I just hope that our Crazy Dear Leader is not quite as crazy as their Dear Leader....or as crazy as me.

"Don't throw away your old shoes, until you have new ones." (Dutch proverb that warns against making a risky change without a safe plan.) "Don't throw away the old bucket until you know the new one holds water." (Test your new solution before you get rid of the old one.) "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". (A real benefit you have right now is better than a bigger prize you might not catch.)
To bring these hackneyed platitudes closer to home, don't quit your job until you've secured a new job. Don't trash our national health care system, until you have a replacement plan....and don't tear up the JCPOA simply because it was negotiated under a previous administration, without first testing the alternatives, fully knowing that the Strait of Hormuz would be in play, and would be the most consequential leak from this "new bucket."
Couldn't resist a poem with a homophone and a double entendre.
Don't know if I should have gone with Dump or Trump, but I am sure this will sufficiently aggravate the MAGATS

No one accepted my poetic challenge to watch our government and report on the facts, so here is my take. This message could not be more timely as the Trump administration on Monday asked the Supreme Court to allow it to fully implement an executive order signed by President Donald Trump that seeks to impose additional restrictions on mail-in voting. Let us also not forget the Heritage Foundation study that revealed that non-citizen voting is so rare that it is statistically non-existent

Will Rogers, who was known as the "most trusted man in America" during the Great Depression, captured the absurdity of politics with this quip: "I don't make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts." He famously summed up the endless material provided by Washington, saying: "There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you."
No, I am no Will Rogers; but I aspire to become a fraction of the American hero that he was. On that note, I am working on another poem after hearing Trumplethinskin bitch and moan, lie and misstate facts about our election integrity. Trump’s own Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency concluded in 2020 that the election that year “was the most secure in American history." The fear amongst pundits all along the political spectrum is that Trump is setting us up for some extra-democratic methods for the upcoming midterm elections, that his only choices, besides actually working for the good of the people, is to cheat or lose.
So I am inviting you to take part in my poetic mission, to watch the government and report the facts. And the basic theme is....

Election integrity?
Cheating is his
best bet
Trump is the threat.
