Last installment of the Bordeaux River Cruise wine education! This video is all about the dessert wineSauternes, made from botrytis- affected Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This wine is unique and special because of the conditions that have to occur to allow the botrytis to grow on the grapes, and the very limited amount that can be made - not every year yields enough to make this dessert wine! You can also look for this wine from the Barsac and Ceron appellations nearby.

Who’s ready to cruise through Bordeaux and explore one of the world’s best wine regions? 🍷 Corey from is showcasing this unique luxury cruise through AmaWaterways, and I’m here to provide all the wine info!

Bordeaux is world renowned for its excellent red wines, made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The region is steeped in history, with some Chateaux making wine for 6-7+ generations. You’ll find some of the most expensive wines here, but PLENTY of fabulous wine at budget-friendly prices too.
