Bluegrass Walker is our award-winning and delectable Irish Walker but aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for 2 years. It is the newest iteration of our barrel-aged barleywines!

If you haven’t tried our Forest Hills Barleywine, you’re missing out—especially if you’re a fan of smooth, rich barrel-aged beer. Being aged in sparkling wine oak barrels for more than a year imparts a bright fruitiness when first packaged. As the bottle ages, the fruitiness gives way to luxurious caramel, toffee, and brown sugar with wisps of dark cocoa.

❗️21 years of Pop the Cap❗️Without that initiative (if you’re not familiar, read below 😉), none of the beers pictured or mentioned here would be possible, so it seems fitting to celebrate the 21st birthday of a law passed to raise the legal ABV of beer in NC!

How are we gonna do it? By bottling/releasing 4 delectably drinkable and delicious high gravity beers, of course!

•Mortimer, bourbon barrel-aged Baltic Porter (12% abv—and collab with Blowing Rock Brewing )

•Photon Sphere, bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout w/cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, and habanero (11.9% abv)

•Hillcrest, Barleywine Ale (10.7% abv)

•Forest Hills, sparkling wine barrel-aged Barleywine Ale (10.8% abv)

Pop the Cap was a grassroots advocacy campaign to raise NC’s Prohibition-era beer alcohol limit from 6% abv to 15%. It began in 2003 with 35 craft beer enthusiasts and was successful, the legislation (HB 392) being signed into law by the governor Aug. 13, 2005.

This ushered in NC’s modern and transformative beer industry, making it a place where craft breweries like OHB could thrive and a national destination for world-class craft beer!

The guys have been busy playing in the barrels again—our barrel-aged Baltic porter collab with Blowing Rock Brewing is officially out of oak and into steel 🤌🏻

🚨Table Rock is now in cans!🚨

That’s right! At long last, our pale ale is available in cans, and we feel some sorta way about this beer 🥰

If it’s been a while, here’s your sign it’s time to get reacquainted.

Table Rock was one of our very first flagships, way back when. A classic American pale ale, it scratches ALL the itches—a little malty, a little hoppy, a bit of sweetness, a bit of bitterness. We’ll put this beer up against any pale ale in the biz.

As always, it’s on draught at all our locations and now available to-go in these sweet cans at the brewery and Olde Hickory Station and Amos Howards Brew Pub
