Team members are Brian "The Brain" Thompson, Michael "The Earner" Eller, and Andrew "Tommy Boy" Rasmussen.

It’s been quite over here. Well we snuck out, crossed a few boards and cooked a few steaks. Friday I had the best time hanging out with my BBQ family, visiting and catching up! It was needed and long overdue. Saturday we moved down the road a few miles to then cook with the . I go to hang out and walk around in the head of ROAST BEAST BBQ, 🤯. Good times!

Took a little weekend trip to the Memphis area to learn a few things and cook a steak. Can’t thank Matt, Jeff and Mark enough for their awesome class! I put their teaching and techniques to the test today and was lucky enough to have my ticket punch to Texas again!

The Mafia and Sauced! BBQ Company aka took to the roads this weekend. 3 steak contest 2 locations 1 weekend.

Contest 1- Brew and Que on Shrine Lake, Summerville SC. Always a fun place and a great group of Shriners. We were thrilled to finish 3rd! Kevin the organizer was the first person I knew to cook in a SCA contest. He has been an invaluable resource in helping me learn ins and outs of steak compilations.

Contest 2- The Steak will Shine Down, Yalaha FL. Cool location, I’m pretty sure we passed big foots house on the way here. This steak was my favorite of the weekend but only finished 12th.

Contest 3- Same location and 2 but this time no grills allowed. We had to cook our steaks on a charcoal starter chimney. This proved to not be an easy task. It was a challenge! We were fired up to finish 8th on the chimney. Scott killed it with his 3rd!

Mafia ventured into the land of cotton and pine trees, Hazlehurst GA. We had a good steak, just didn’t cook it long enough finished 13th. Next week will be back and in full effect! 3 steak contest, two states and 1 good time.

Mafia steak division had a nice outing to Big Stone Gap Va. Super happy with our 5th place steak and a new cow to add to our collection! Check out the work a local artisans did on this cute girl. The town of Big Stone Gap was super inviting and did another great contest.

Everything in Texas is bigger, butt whooping included! I have never had so much fun getting whooped though! I can’t tell you how great this experience has been. Steak Cookoff Association did a fantastic job! Big thanks to the from GA and FL for taking care of us this weekend. Hope to return next year.

There is no final round for the Mafia, finishing 28th in our group today. We will be competing in the Kick Off Classic tomorrow, hopefully kicking it up some. Regardless we are having a blast in Fort Worth! Just had my first Whataburger, and it was pretty darn good!

We will be cheering on Sauced! BBQ Company tomorrow as he advanced to the finals!

The Mafia’s BBQ and Steak divisions met up at their home town contest, Butts and Beans BBQ Challenge. Steak division placed 5th. BBQ division finished off their season with 5th overall too. 8th chicken and brisket and 7th in Pork.

Steak division is off to Fort Worth Texas for the Steak World Championship next weekend.

The Mafia’s steak division has returned from a world wind, tour of Florida. Sauced! BBQ Company and the Mafia left out way too early Friday morning and headed south to Smokin’ in the Pines in Perry FL. I was fortunate to win my first, first place steak and Golden Ticket!

We then continue south to Orlando on Saturday for Gentry's BBQ Steak Cookoff. Lightning did not strike twice, but I’m very happy with 7th place!

It was slightly over 23 hour of windshield time, but it was fun! Got to meet a lot of new people and visit a few new places. Can’t wait to do it again!
