Today I completed a few projects, successfully canning lemon curd to stock my pantry shelves with other canned items and preparing a decent-sized batch of pickled eggs for the fridge.

We utilized our tools to create a fresh grazing area for the girls, and they seem to be enjoying their new surroundings. After completing the pasture work under the scorching sun, I sat with the dogs to recuperate and appreciate the fruits of our labor while watching them revel in the new space. The apple trees on our premises are still in bloom, but the flowers will soon drop off. The grass has a snowy appearance, but fortunately, it's not the cold kind.🐑

This evening, as the sun dips below the horizon and the air cools marginally, I'm reflecting on the day's events and how they might forecast the summer season. The thought of summer's arrival is somewhat daunting. For now, I'm enjoying my chicken dinner on the patio, surrounded by the soothing sounds of bees in the apple trees and the gentle flight of insects.
