Step by step process how we feed our calves from day one they arrive in our lower calf barn until weaning age of 2.5 months.

We currently just filled one side (24 calves) Monday.
They are on full bottles 2x a day.

Our other side is starting our weaning process. This consists of being fed 2x half bottles for 4 days. Then they will be knocked down to 1/2 bottle for morning feeding only and 1/2 bottle of water at night. Until their weaning date which is June 5th. This process for them is much easier on them as weaning is a stressful time in their lives. We do it this way rather than just taking them away from the bottle at the end of their 2.5 month period.

Slow and easy for cattle is always the best choice! Less stress on cattle the better! 🖤

Bottle calves have their own unique love language.. 😅
This typically only happens after they get fed. Only time I catch them doing this.

Generally, you want to ensure that calves are kept separated as much as possible at a young age to minimize the spread of sickness and diseases that one could potentially harbor. Fortunately, we vaccinate our calves upon unloading them from the trailer. Additionally, we only source calves from a single farm, which significantly helps prevent any sickness. We take pride in our cattle and strive to raise a superior product.
