But I w**k everyone for your support lovly words & compassion for the plight of our locals who love the winters here as much as we do farmers who I see all the time & there they true r heros we support have who have 0 heat omedical care in the winter but always a place & why we moved here. So visit the HIghlands Market & looks for Mikey & if you want something special just call or tell him. Love to all of you -items timehe very brandied peaches & zucchini pickles now-Bon Appetitie

Well the season is almost @ an end & we want to thank everyone for the great farmer's market in HIghlands & everyone said it couldn't be done. I apologize for not being there due to a fractured rib for the past 3 weeks but this Saturday was great (very cold).
My MIkey was the man for he not only helped & took care of me he did it with a smile & I am so proud for the best thing anyone can do is xactly that help, love ya, & not complain.
Next week is the home town day done by Rebecca but all my true blue venders are coming also & it should be a beautiful day.
The attitude of gratitude that we have for the vendors who grew from 8 to 22 when it was high season was enough to make us plan to work hard this winter to do things in the rec center & spend the winter gathering new vendors in our new park. No one was there in the beginning of this season so unless you can realize that for $10 every Saturday for 4 hrs you can be free to enjoy & make a profit & we support the emergency council & always shall with any way they need for that is our connection to the farming community who have no $$ for heat in the winter due to no crops & artisans for no where to afford to show it. Lastly the Bolivian misssion , Hatian relief & Cancer foundation. Love & peace M&M & Zino

Thanks for a great market today. For those who have not seen the article in the Highlander paper we are thrilled that the writer shared other markets for it is a opportunity for all of us to unite & that is the way everything should be. United we stand & that is what I was striving for. Highlands rules & it is getting more fabulous everyday
Every project starts with a wish & grows if we all come together.. Maxie

We have music this Saturday & black eyed peas coming from a farmer fresh & last weekend we had fresh eggs & butter & veggies & goodies made from local ingredients. Each week we grow & the artisans are doing great things such as on looms & caning & jewels & wood working, etc. . Plants & candles oh too much to mention but it is great & please come & visit.

Spent the am talking to the town hall & I will be speaking on 7/17 @ 7pm & anyone who wants to know should be there it is the public opinion time so come & support if you choose to .
This coming weekend we should have music & I also am working on other things to boost our market which cost 0 $$ such as calling & letting the Highlands info center know about us & they were not even aware of our existance & now they will promote it.
I will find out about 7/5/ @ 1pm today & if you work with people they help you but I also agreed to help with their lunch program if needed to feed kids who do not have a lunch cuz school is out.
So as my husband works 40-50 hours a week & takes his day off to help the market & I spend my time & energy to help the market to grow w/o spending $$ I ask only that the other vendors do the same.
Can't find the list of people to call but now I have to get back to my orders & do my biz as all of you all do.
This will be my forum to update anyone who wants to know about the market cuz there is an erroneous page that calls itself the Highlands Farmers market by Andrea Gabbard who is not involved in the Highlands market & I do not have the time or skill to revamp that page.
Anyone who has a dispute with that should deal with her & ask her where the $$ she collected went & why she is advertising that she is still running the Highlands Farmer's Market. Also ask where the tents & coolers she was giving by the agricultural agency went.
I am not anyone you ever had run the market b/for & I did it to help those who depend on the $$ to survive the winter here that is my motivation. My husband & I make 0 salary for what we are doing so for the last & final time do not bring anything but your positive energy & $10.00 to be a part of it or don't participate. This was as gift I did to benefit my town Highlands & the vendors who need this income & I am done explaining now you want to make it better then do something or don't ask my husband questions cuz I am not nearly as nice as he is I just tell it like it is & if you think you can do better then hit it next year & I will pay my $10.00 & still come & still make my $$ & be happy.
I will state that on 10/11 is Hometown day where the Rebecca Shuller is in charge of & we are all invited to be part of & untill the end of this season I will continue to run this b'cuzI committed & demanded it be allowed & I always finish what I start but have no doubt that I do not take or give grief to anyone so be careful where you tread. Maxie

So the farmer's market is up & going & I am thrilled that this past week was the biggest one yet but we need more produce & unfortunately due to the bad winter we just have to be patient & know that it is coming for we do have other good vendors plus
the veggies are coming so just come & support & we have great food too & plants & goat cheese, etc.
Now I want to state that we collect $10,00 from all the vendors to pay the town for that is why we have the park so if anyone wants to know where the $$ is going to that is it.
Anyone who wants to make it great needs to do it & ask what needs to be done to promote it & have an attitude of gratitude that it is not only existing for it was not wanted here & I am totally trying to do things to promote it but there is no $$ for advertising yet & if you are a vendor & have a complaint realize your an adult & just do what you think would be done & not complain to Mikey or step up & run it cuz it is not easy & we do not get paid.
this is directed to a very few.
I am thrilled but I will not have negativity for the majority of the people who come tell me how great it is & I know it is so.
I will make a date to speak @ the town meeting & if we advertise in one paper we need to do it in both cuz they give us shout outs all the time for free.
So buck up & do what you can to make this the jewel it is becoming cuz personally Mikey & I work 24/7 & we said we would do it & we did what's your contribution should be joy & thankfulness cuz that is how we roll . M&M

Want to thank everyone for the kind words of encouragement.
For anyone whom was not informed by phone I apologize but hope you will join us for I could only call those whom I knew from former markets so please pass the word to call me so I can help if they need it. Since Friday I have had many responders & am looking ahead to a great season.

Welcome to the start of the 2014 Farmer's Market in Highlands.
Myself & husband shall be extending our guidance to the vendors who chose to join in the celebration of the the bountiful offerings of our precious area & invite all who are interested to contact us @ 482-0555 (828). We only ask that you pay $10.00, make your own items for sale, & clean up after yourself & most importantly realize this is a cooperative effort so be full of good cheer & we all help each other to benefit & bring joy to the town of Highlands , NC.
The hours are 9am to 1pm & help each other to set up & most of all realize it has been a very difficult winter & we would like to help support the emergency council of Highlands who help people with heat & the food pantry but all organization are welcome to have a table. Just be aware that it is a very small town & maybe you have a neighbor who is in need of transportation & notable to get out & bring them. Maxie, Michael & Zino Davidoff
