Honoring those before me

Traveling back from Phoenix, Arizona today with a full heart! So grateful for the friends that have expressed interest to join me at the Farm Fest at the Mountain this Sunday.

My friends know that invitations from me promise some kind of adventure, and something peculiar. I can promise that our mountain community will deliver!

This was my first season in leadership for the farm, and it has been a joy to connect with the community, and especially the summer camp kids. I am hopeful that the Mountain community before me feels welcomed to come back this season or the following seasons. I would love to meet you and I would learn to learn from you.

Grateful for this sacred space and our beautiful land that we are all devoted to sharing with others. May we continue to provide nourishing and empowering days to come.

So, will we see you this weekend?

Sunday, September 1st come join us at The Mountain from 10am - 5pm.

We will have an open mic stage throughout the day at the brand new stage in the field built by the 2024 Ascender Crew! Food will be available throughout the day by the Dancing Bear Food Truck aka Gabe Murray, our new Kitchen manager at The Mountain.

Farm Festival is coming! Sunday, September 1st from 10am-4pm we will be hosting community space at the Many Hands Peace Farm for a day of family friendly learning and activities.

Before we release the final schedule on Wednesday, we wanted to offer one last time for anyone to join us as a workshop leader or talent feature! Professional film and photography will be taken to promote our local farmers, leaders, and creatives here at The Mountain in the seasons to come!

Farm-to-table dreams

Gabe Murray has been a resident of Highlands, North Carolina for the past 11 years. Many have been blessed by his wholesome and tasteful culinary palette, his devotion to a team, and his passion to share his creative energy so that the business and communities he serves always flourish.

Gabe’s recipes for the dining room and on life’s simple joys will take us through deeper insights to where we are economically and socially in the local food consumer industry, who are the people and what are the business strategies to know and learn from, and how we can engage with and sustainably bring more farms to our tables.
