Ahh… the Tromboncino Squash. Pronounced Trom-bon-CHEE-no. Our garden is as much a star of the show as our cattle on our farm. The garden produces many fresh vegetables & fruits and is a place for the kids to learn & continue being a part of growing and raising their own food.

The Tromboncino Squash stands out simply because of its size & is a head scratcher to many. It’s as awe-mazing on the vine as it is on the plate. It’s incredibly productive, delicious, and one of those vegetables we continue to plant because it’s never let us down.

We originally added tromboncino to the garden because we wanted to grow something a little different than what you’d typically find at the grocery store & it quickly became one of our favorites.

If you’ve never tried one, don’t let the size fool you. It cooks just like zucchini when harvested young; when it’s left to mature, it’s great for baking and soups too.

This garden gives our family a place work together long before gathering around a dinner table. It’s amazing how a simple garden can grow so much more than vegetables.

It’s been my goal to see how many vegetables I can throw into one meal. So here’s my Summer Steak Bowl.

Lincoln helped pick the peppers from the Good Shepherd garden to bring a little spice to our peachy corn salsa. And the secret sauce??? Jalapeño ranch made fresh by Honeysuckle Hideaway.

& listen… I’m not always perfect. But when I am, I make a whole meal without going to the grocery store. This is an example of my perfection 😉
