"Man, I tell ya, it's tough out here for a piglet! All hot and humid. And I'm flat wore out from breakfast!! Moms spilled half the water and my cousin went swimming in the bowl. So, now it's low and dirty and too much work to get a drink. I think I'll just nap right here until daddy comes back with a clean refill. So tired..."

Got to spend some much needed quality time with this big boy today and we both enjoyed it quite a bit!

Sergeant Pepper (AKKPS 60805) is our herd sire...only breeding boar actually! Weighing in somewhere around 350, he can be a LOT sometimes...so I wasn't sure what to expect at bath and grooming time. I found his switch though...the closer you get to rubbing his belly, the quicker he rolls on his side for belly rubs. Thankfully!! LOL

Had to coerce him from time to time with marshmallows or peanut butter...sometimes both. But we got the job done and he'll be representing our little farm in the big show next week.

I'm excited for him and for us. We're still relatively new on the scene, and new at showing pigs, so I'd say we have higher hopes than expectations. If nothing else, we got some great practice and experience for next year. But a decent showing would do our herd a lot of good.

Fingers crossed for the big fella. He'll sleep good tonight.

So will I!
