One of our new last year blue butts dropped us of a nice litter of 13 all alive and doing great. She earned herself a place in the heard. We are weeding out some of our girls and keeping gilts from our best stock. Eventually we will get all caught up on our orders. When you got good pigs you can't ever seem to keep enough in stock to fill all the orders that keep piling up.

February born piglet zoomies. It's always a good sign to have them running around and playing. Meanwhile moms like how much longer is this going to happen...I'm done being used as a jungle gym

We got a double header going tonight with two gilts. They are popping them out fast and at least it's not in the middle of the night.

A look at all our litters, and just like that we are back to a full barn with a need of more open pens. I actually have three more sows that are getting moved into this barn tomorrow, going to have to put a couple sows in a pen together. This is why it is a must to pick up pigs on the pickup date. There is a system we need to follow to keep a smooth flow going in the barn at the proper time. These January and February litters have some real good quality pigs in them. I'm definitely impressed by what our Hamp boar is doing for our operation.

One our best girls Nosey Nancy dropped us off a litter of 13 late last night. Alot of real nice piglets in her litter. I wish she had a January litter but it doesnt always work out how we want. She had me rather worried for her as she had milk for over 5 days and it was starting to get less milk than a few days ago. Usually it's once you have squirting milk you'll have piglets in 24 hours. Out of all the litters we had it's never happened that way. Also a picture of our longhorn and her gorgeous heifer calf.

A picture of squeaks and her litter for attention. All the piglets are doing extremely well this year. We currently sit with 96 in the barn. And 7 or so more litters coming. With that being said there is going to be about 40 that will be ready to go the first to second week of February to those that are first in line on the reserve list. I know it's early but our barn is going to be at or over full capacity. Also every pig this year is coming fully vaccinated as well as our normal double dewormed. With the rising cost of all our expenses we have raised our price to $150. We hate to raise our prices but also want to be able to stick around and supply everyone with pigs. The last couple years we have finished the year in the red and we just can't do that. Thank you to all our customers! As always reach out to us if you need anything or have any questions and we will try and get back to you in a timely manor.

Another litter on Thursday night. Mama is a bit careless and we are already down to 7. She will more than likely get culled after weaning. A couple lost is acceptable but a 50% loss is not. She literally just lays on them as they are screaming and won't budge. It's a shame because she is a beautiful specimen of a hamp/duroc cross.

We've been busy with pigs and a busy work schedule. I'm a little late with pictures but we are having numerous litters hitting the ground. We had 2 litters new years day, numerous others after and still lots more to come. I'm lacking in picture's at the moment. All the pigs this year will be Hamp crosses, as our Hamp boar was the only one doing the work so we got rid of the others and have yet to get another.

Piggies enjoying some of their favorite fall surplus. Not only do we grow them for feed we also buy them more, lots more. Some mama's are starting to show off their belly full of fair pigs. Some recently weaned litters and are skinny due to the piglets nursing the mama's weight off. As you can see we have quite the herd of sows going right now and that was after downsizing 10 or more. Here's hoping for a very productive fair season this year.
